Martin Freeman, Stephen Fry, Smaug and the behind-the-scenes editing crew are front and center in the latest Hobbit production diary video from Peter Jackson.

With The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug set to hit theaters next week, this latest diary finds the technical crews scrambling to meet deadlines in order to get the film out in time.

Meanwhile, we get our first extended look at Fry's character, the Master of Laketown. The Master of Laketown is described a greedy but closed companion of Luke Evans' Bard the Bowman.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug arrives in theaters December 13. For more Hobbit features, clips and offers, jump on over to our Hobbit Guide.
