'The Hunger Games,' Brad Pitt Lead Fandango Users' Most Anticipated of 2013

By: Sean OConnell on January 3, 2013 at 6:34AM Comments (23)
Fandango fans are forward thinkers. Our loyal users have been looking forward to the movies of 2013 even before 2012 even drew to a close.

We polled Fandango’s readers about their Most Anticipated movie experiences for the coming year, and were surprised by the results. According to those surveyed, for example, Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin from Iron Man 3 was the Most Anticipated Villain by a large margin (topping Benedict Cumberbatch’s Star Trek Into Darkness baddie and Michael Shannon’s General Zod from Man of Steel). And Brad Pitt’s World War Z was named the Most Anticipated Apocalyptic Movie ahead of M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim, This Is the End and Oblivion, with Tom Cruise.

This wasn’t much of a surprise, however: The Hunger Games – Catching Fire was named the Most Anticipated Blockbuster by Fandango readers … an obvious choice given the fact that the original Hunger Games movie was our top advance ticket-seller from 2012.

Here are the complete results of our Most Anticipated poll of 2013, including the individual picks by Fandango’s Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. Now, let us know your answers in the comments section below, and we’ll see you at the movies in 2013!

These picks are definitely one person's opinion. The picks here seem to be for 13 yr old boys on a testosterone. How about a more inclusive list?

I look forward to just about everything listed. Don't care for horror or sports based films. Previews are shown way too far ahead though and they get boring fast when one sees a lot of films.

Very serious. Most movies in 2012 were bad and un eventful, hope 2013 is better . I love to go to the movie and will even see things that I know are not good just to go. 2012 I hardly went , every time I look to see what was out , I stayed home. very few movie good or so so movies were out in 012 . Yeah but fandad, unless if its about WIR winning a award, the DVD release or any news on the sequel, then its OK fandad, sorry its just I don't need to here every bit of news on how much or how well Wreck It Ralph is doing, no offense fandad I love Wreck It Ralph too but now its a old movie and I want to hear news about a sequel or if it wins a award
