My wife and I went to see this movie. We can totally relate to the characters and storyline. Funny with some serious undertones...well put together.

Guess I was expecting more from Barbra Streisand. Very slow in the beginning. There were some parts that were very funny others I sat and wondered. Huh? Be sure to stay for the credits. There are some good out takes and scenes cut that happen to be some of the best part of his film. If there are other movies out there you'd rather see, by pass this one and wait until it comes on cable!

With the characters it was funny, but it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. The movie got boring in some parts. but the characters in the movie did make it funny in certain scenes. I would not go see it again. and I would tell my friends that they should wait to see it when it comes out on video. It was an okay movie. It wasn't funny enough to brag about.

"Guilt" Pleasure

I enjoyed THE GUILT TRIP a lot. It is a very sweet film. Don't let the trailers fool you into believing it's a raucous FOCKERS-like comedy. There's no dirty jokes or special effects or explosions in The Guilt Trip—just some great Streisand/Rogen chemistry ... and a big heart. It's a small movie about a mother and a son. And what a pleasure to see Barbra back on the big screen! As Joyce, she hits all the right notes. Barbra is so relaxed and natural in the movie. Rogen plays "embarrassed son" well, and his character does some growing up over the coarse of the movie. Bring your mom, a date, or a friend. The end is touching and might bring a tear to your eye.
