Good movie!

As a mother with grown sons I understood exactly how the mother ( Barbra Streisand) felt. I laughed, but also shed a couple tears during the hotel scene when she told him exactly how she felt. Young children would not understand this movie. My husband found it very funny. It summed up a lot of the things a mother feels. I loved the ending!

Guilt Trip

Myself and thirteen others of my " Red Hat" chapter went last night. We loved it!! Laughed our 'butts' off, it was perfection. Even better than any of us thought it would be. What a perfect duo these two were, super believable as mother and son, even if your not Jewish! I am, as well as everyone else with me last night, are telling every one else to see this movie, it was excellent. I personally would expect nothing less from Barbra Streisand - she is perfection and so real. An exceptional movie for anyone over 16. Wish I had a chance to do a road trip with my mom while she was still on this earth...it would have been a hoot. Red Hatter in Florida

Sweet Movie-Great Chemistry

By ladywalker68

This was an unexpectedly sweet movie and the previews and trailers don't adequately capture this. Streisand and Rogen have great chemistry and play off each other very well. I saw this in a preview viewing on Dec. 2nd and there were non-stop laughs all the way through by a packed theater. But it is the tenderness of the story and relevance in my own life that is especially moving. I cried nearly as much as I laughed. If you are a mother and have a grown son and can talk him into going, then do it. If not, take a friend. Regardless, don't miss it!

"Guilt" Pleasure

I enjoyed THE GUILT TRIP a lot. It is a very sweet film. Don't let the trailers fool you into believing it's a raucous FOCKERS-like comedy. There's no dirty jokes or special effects or explosions in The Guilt Trip—just some great Streisand/Rogen chemistry ... and a big heart. It's a small movie about a mother and a son. And what a pleasure to see Barbra back on the big screen! As Joyce, she hits all the right notes. Barbra is so relaxed and natural in the movie. Rogen plays "embarrassed son" well, and his character does some growing up over the coarse of the movie. Bring your mom, a date, or a friend. The end is touching and might bring a tear to your eye.
