i seen this movie in the theater and I went and bought a copy from one of my favorite movie/music outlets. The Great Debater thrilled me to inspirational heights! I mean, to see these group of young, black college kids... with the guidance of a strong, and grand professor ...to see them achieve and believe in themselves in a time where we as blacks were thought to be intellectually beneath our white counter-parts and be victorious... it's just inspirational to witness a true story of risen up against all odds!!!!
I hated this god dam movie it blows!!!!!!!!!1 it could have been good but nope it sucked
A sneak peek at life in a Negro college during the 1930s. Appropriate for most kids age 10+.
A Masterful work! The acting was excellent, as was the storyline (a true story, it should be noted). Several of my favorite actors turning in simply stellar performances. A must see for anybody with a brain, a heart, and a love of humanity, justice and intellectual freedom!
I watched this movie with my mom. She took me to see it. She loved it. I loved it. This movie has made me appreciate the opportunities I have now as compared to the struggles that African Americans have had to go through. The scene where they come across a black man getting lynched made me feel sick to my stomach. It's hard to believe people actually did that to other human beings. Great movie. Teaches great lessons. Should have been Oscar nominated.
