    The Great Debaters

    A Masterful work! The acting was excellent, as was the storyline (a true story, it should be noted). Several of my favorite actors turning in simply stellar performances. A must see for anybody with a brain, a heart, and a love of humanity, justice and intellectual freedom!

    Great Movie

    I watched this movie with my mom. She took me to see it. She loved it. I loved it. This movie has made me appreciate the opportunities I have now as compared to the struggles that African Americans have had to go through. The scene where they come across a black man getting lynched made me feel sick to my stomach. It's hard to believe people actually did that to other human beings.

    Great movie. Teaches great lessons. Should have been Oscar nominated.

    Excellent movie for family. Students learn something about tenacity. Very good family orientation plus historical.

    The Great Debaters

    This is an excellent film and its viewing should be prioritized by families.

    Though set in an earlier time frame, this period piece is very appropraite for today. The Great Debaters is an excellent movei with dramatic and challenging lessons for all. It is not afilm forAfrican Americans, it is of value to all; especially to students of all ages or adults who interact with students.

    Denzel Washington has again excelled his past performances. Forest Whiatker ascends to heights othrs would wish to reach. The new and previously unknow actors like Denzel Whitaker will not remain unknown after their performances in this movie.

    The Great Debaters

    You can almost feel the delight the actors had in being able to have a part in this marvelous movie. Not one character is a stereotype; all the people and the places are shown in a richly textured way that draws us, the audience, into the sights, sounds, smells and emotions. The way the actors of three different generations worked together was a delight, and at the end of the movie the audience responded with applause and tears.

    So True to real life

    I'm sorry that this movie didn't draw more attention in this area. I 'm from the south and I remember life being just as hard and raw as it was presented in the movie. Denzel as always was spellbinding. A must see. It made me cry, feel ashamed, and then smile ear to ear. Now my husband owes me a chick flick!
