This movie is okay but a bit slow for me. The action was a bit slow and not as smooth as Donnie Yen, Yes I'm comparing it when Donnie Yen played as Ip Man. This movie didn't even come close but that is just my opinion. B

I enjoy the movie very much. It gave me a deep insight into Grandmaster Ip Man. Also, showed me the pain of master Gong Er and what a sacrifice she made in her live time. If you love the martial arts, then you must go and see this one.

If you're alright with reading your way through a movie (2h 10m worth!)... then this is the movie for you! I did however enjoy the fighting...

Amidst all the drivel Hollywood generates during an average year, this is a cinematic pearl that must not be missed. The cinematography and fight choreography are stunning and a feast to watch, as are the beautiful costumes and the set dress, but the human story and the subtle interactions between the main characters steal the show. Go see it on the big screen while you still can.

Too much mush - not enough push

Expecting to see some serious Wing Chun fighting, I was disappointed to learn of history and Ip Man's loves. And whenever there was fighting, the camera angles did the art a gross injustice.
