At last a clean entertaining movie without the violence we have become accustomed to. The Golden boys of Carradine, Torn and crew as well as Ms Mariel Hemmingway bring us back to days goneby.
We need more movies like this which can send a message. A must see for mothers, grandmothers and families alike.

I live on Cape Cod and was around while this movie was being filmed here 2 years ago. At that time, the title was "Chatham" and it created quite a sensation for the locals, some of whom were involved in the filming and met some of the stars.
I just saw it today as "The Golden Boys" and it is really excellent. The rapport between the 3 old retired sea captains is superb. The scenery is beautiful and the story is extremely authentic (it takes place in 1905). Great dialogue and storyline. I felt so moved and had tears in my eyes at the end. I wish Hollywood would make more of these simple types of movies that rely on character development and witty dialogue, reminiscent of 1940's flicks. I rate this 10 stars!!!
