Don't go...
I was excited to see this movie, and the concept interested me, but the did not work for me.
After an hour into the movie, I did not yet feel connected to any of the characters, and the "fantasy" story was not engaging. I wanted to know more about the little girl and the story behind the man. It to far to long for these story lines to develop. I wanted to get up and leave after 30 minutes... My wife and I left a little after an hour and could not make it through this picture. This is only the 2nd movie is 30 years that I have walked away from.
It could have been so much more.

Very impressive
I was expecting a lot coming into this movie. The Cell was a visual delight, so I expected nothing less in this movie. There was no disappointment.
The production and colors were unbelievable. There is no comparison to The Labyrinth because they have totally different intentions. While both are beautiful to watch, but The Fall provokes more mature emotions as well as having a sense of humor.
The little girl was fantastic. I don't know who she is or where is she from but she played the part with so much depth and believability it was impressive.
Lee Pace did an amazing job portraying such a complex and detailed character.
This movie is best seen in the theatre, so one can see the broad and beautiful cinematography and color scheme. Really, really beautiful. Gripping and stunning.

Falls short.
The Fall is visually stunning. Beautiful. Haunting. It is also meandering and boring. After a fall has left him paralyzed from the waist down, and his ex-girlfriend has left him heart-broken, stunt actor Roy Walker is fed-up with life. Stuck in a hospital bed while his ex runs around with a movie star, Roy longs for the comfort of the grave, so he enlists the help of a young girl who was also hurt in a fall, tricking her into sneaking him morphine in exchange for a story. Roy's tale is the bulk of the film, and is beaitiful in scope, with some scenes really standing out, but the quirkiness of the characters Roy creates is wasted as he sends them plodding through a hum-drum story. The scenes in the hospital betwen Roy and the young girl hold the most weight, and the relationship they build actually saves the film, but one cannot help but feel that if Roy's story had been better developed, that the Fall could have been one of the best films ever made, instead of just a pretty movie.

a must see
this movie was one of the best i have seen in a while. that is the whole background and scenery were great but the plot dragged a bit. the whole movie was sad and it just seemed like they were trying to be too original. it is still worth seeing in my opinion though

Out of this world...
This very odd but engrossing film directed by Tarem Singh is for a small rare audience with open minds, a pension for surrealistic visuals a la Salvadore Dali and the ability to separate the present story from the adult fairy tale going on at the same time. Some terrific acting from Romanian child actress Carinca Unsaru, at age 7 yet, and Lee Pace, (Good Shepherd, Miss Pettigrew) is great as the stunt man in hospital after a fall from a horse that leaves him a paraplegic. He tells our little girl with her broken arm a serial type fantasy story, but he has an ulterior motive, check it out at least on DVD if this is your cup of tea!
