FALL in love with this EXCELLENTLY-CRAFTED STUNNING movie.

I just saw the screening for this movie - and for 2 hours I was transported AND plunged head-long into a DAZZLINGLY sumptuous opulently expertly-crafted imaginative tale of mortality, despair, hope, love, betrayal, redemption, revenge, and friendship - drawn into a story-within-a-story.

Shot in 18 (!!!) countries - the surreal cinematography and visual smorgasbord served up frame after frame of expertly directed scenes that are pleasing to the eyes. This movie is a PRIME example of what an ART film should be. Director Tarsem Singh is a force to be reckoned with! He also directed the equally visually stunning and memorable THE CELL starring Jennifer Lopez.

The Fall is a MUST-SEE for genuine movie fans who appreciate genuine movie-making.

I am looking forward already to Tarsem Singh's next movie WESTWORLD - a remake of the 1973 Yul Brynner/James Brolin movie-adaptation of Michael Crichton's similarly titled novel.

    I HIGHLY recommend The Fall.

    READ ME!

ok, this is very simple. if your just like every other American and just wants some plain old movie go entertain yourself with NARNIA. now if your a true movie goer and you want to see something stunning and spectacular, go see this. this film leaves an impression on you that you will remember, but if you dont really understand films to much, see something else. overall it's in my opinion a masterpiece. there are almost little to none special effects in it yet the scenes are the most eye popping things ive ever seen. just keep in mind if you dont understand films and if you really dont care about the meaning of them. then go see something else.

    Best in Film Creation!

Nothing short of genius and a gift to all of us from God. This is the best movie ever created in all of motion picture history. Period. I felt like I was a little girl again watching Alexandria (Catinca) walk through the halls of the hospital and chancing upon Roy (Lee) finding out they had something special in common.

"We're a strange couple, aren't we?" This line sums up all that the movie is. The contrasts between young and old, real and fantasy, happy and sad, silly and serious, hope and dispair. I even ran out and bought Bethtoven's symphony #7 in A major because the music so perfectly knit to the flowingly pleasant visuals accompanying the music.

I just wish I had Tarsem's address so that I could express my gratitude for the gift he has given us all.

    Thanks Tarsem!

    Great Movie

The main characters were very good and carried the weight of the movie. The story was a little thin, but that didn't matter because the acting and visuals were that good.

    Brilliant

The Fall is totally brilliant in the European tradition. I actually cannot find words that adequately express how my limbic brain connected with this movie.

    Fall into THE FALL

If you didn't like, it's because you didn't get it, or your inner child is dead.
This movie was a refreshing reminder that film is an art for telling tales that awaken the imagination.
I can't say enough about THE FALL, it's so good, so layered and such a great mix
of warmth, sadness, humor, intrigue and the most amazing locations ever filmed.
Don't wait for video, GO SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And bring you childhood imagination along!

    Hollywood is schlocky

I fall asleep every time I try to watch the Wizard of Oz. The fall is an escapist movie grounded in reality. Visually mesmerizing as if it were a blockbuster tempered with the fact that the money has been spent in the right place, the nuances of imagination. The Fall is that movie that is bigger than the art house movie that it is pigeon holed as and yet not a disappointing CGI amusement park that has you looking at your watch between rides.

The Fall caused me to fall...

In love with this movie! It was fantastic.

The story is very engaging and will keep your attention. The story within the story within the story borders on genius and has raised my expectations of movies... at least of this type.
The cinematography is outstanding. The greatest locations in the world shot in very rich colors.
The acting was truly amazing - I had to tell myself that the people are acting and were really not as they seemed to be on screen.
If you can't catch it in theaters, cough up the money to upgrade your tv room - articulate surround sound, dangerously large HD and plush leather recommended.

    Very impressive

I was expecting a lot coming into this movie. The Cell was a visual delight, so I expected nothing less in this movie. There was no disappointment.
The production and colors were unbelievable. There is no comparison to The Labyrinth because they have totally different intentions. While both are beautiful to watch, but The Fall provokes more mature emotions as well as having a sense of humor.
The little girl was fantastic. I don't know who she is or where is she from but she played the part with so much depth and believability it was impressive.
Lee Pace did an amazing job portraying such a complex and detailed character.
This movie is best seen in the theatre, so one can see the broad and beautiful cinematography and color scheme. Really, really beautiful. Gripping and stunning.

    The Fall

    by byrc

A beautifully shot and acted movie, The Fall not only has a gripping story from the start, but also humour and originality that Hollywood only dreams of these days. The characters were humanistic and real, and the interplay between reality and fantasy was perfect.

Set in LA shortly after the turn of the century, the movie follows the relationship between two patients at a hospital, one precarious child with a vivid imagination and one nihilistic injured movie star. They form a symbiotic relationship through story telling, that leads them both to enlightenment. This is a must-see film.

Reflect before you plunge into ?THE FALL? =

This film (by Tarsem Singh) was shot in a number of wonderful locations (such as India), has some impressive sets and costumes and some quite good acting by leads LEE PACE (as injured stunt actor Roy Walker) and charming young CATINCA UNTARU as Alexandria, the girl who tries to help him recover in a hospital after World War I. What it doesn?t have is a sensible, clear story you can really enjoy, since Roy is such an inherently depressed character who creates stories for Alexandria to try to induce her to get him excessive medications. There are some humorous elements, and some fabulous architectural structures you can take pleasure in. But, I think you?ll have some difficulty in truly enjoying the film as an overall experience: it?s not bad, it?s just frequently somewhat confusing, and, to me the whole doesn?t add up to more than the sum of its disparate parts. In other words, it?s more fascinating than pleasurable. Best to think twice before you decide to spend your time seeing it.

    The Fall

Is easily one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. All the characters are wonderful, the acting is great, the locations are spectacular, and the story kept me on my seat the entire film.
But it's not a film for everyone, so if you don't like more story than action and no "hit in the nuts" humor, you might want to see something different than this artistic film. I put this as one of the best films I've seen all year.
