A pap smear... a mammogram done with an alligator's mouth.. giving birth thru my nose... all would have been more enjoyable than sitting thru that movie.

I cannot express enough how much joy this movie can bring to your day if you'll let it. It's purpose is joy, not Oscars or other trophies, nor accolades or "fresh" ratings. A big thank you goes out to Sly who sticks it to modernity with solid, old-school shoot-em ups. Nothing against the Dark Knight or Bourne series but there's a place for "just action" without the plot or, dare I say, acting. Notice the cast is all older; we've been getting away from action for the sake of action. Let's get Milla Jovavich in The Expendables 3 since she's about the only one left holding down the fort. Okay, enough with my soapbox about the action film's decline. The Expendables 2 earns its money in the first ten minutes, from then on our you're laughing: either at cheesy one-liners or hilariously awesome kill scenes. I love ever member of the cast and only wish that there was more time to fit in more people. I'm already getting psyched for the third because the first two have been an absolute delight!

the movies had action from begining to end, loved it.. many things blowing up including body parts.. movies was funny and the actors was on point, they made fun of there self seeing that most of them are over the age of 50.. will watch this again soon. it might even be better then the first one.

Same old story, same old heros, same of stunt sequences. Every aspect of the original's formula is rehashed here with little success. Yes, there's a scene where their plane shoots at the enemy and wipes them out, in fact there are two of those scenes. Yes, there are plenty of has-been star cameos that are mildly amusing. What's missing is a new idea or element to the story. The acting and the dialog are as bad as can be. If you haven't had enough of this by now, you should probably see the movie. That's how I felt going into it and I realized what a mistake it was within 10 minutes of watching the film.

My friends and I went to see Expendables 2 at the midnight showing. The theatre wasn't very full, so that should have been my first indication of how the night would go. I am usually down with gratuitous violence and "things that go boom" in my movies, but this is one I would have rather waited until a "decent" hour to see.
