The End of Poverty?

A moving film that depicts the historical background of world poverty and illustrates how the monopolization of land and resources has created and increasingly exacerbated the inequitable distribution of wealth and income in Third World countries. Unfortunately, most Americans are unware of this history or the current situation in these countries. The movie weaves together interviews with experts, and people from the various communities along with various facts and statistics to bring home the theme. Many of the scenes were heart-wrenching. I highly recommend thisfilm as a starting point in learning about this critical subject.

A Meaningful and Moving Documentary

Brilliant, powerful, scholarly! Moving and haunting, despite the absence of cheap appeals to inspire sympathy. This film builds on interviews with scholars, experts, and disenfranchised people, interlaced with views of the living conditions of destitute people around the world, and printed statistics about consumption and distribution of wealth and resources worldwide. This film has touched my heart and penetrated my psyche. I feel transformed by this film. It haunts me and helps me to see the world with new clarity and understanding..

The more you learn about it the more you realize that Poverty is a byproduct, a symptom, of lack of compassion. It does not have to exist, there is enough for everyone.
