Wants to be an epic but falls short

This movie felt more like the middle part of a trilogy than the conclusion. Usually the middle part is the weakest, having to carry the story along until the third part wraps everything up with a bang. (Think The Two Towers in The Lord of the Rings series.) That's what this felt like to me, a by-the-numbers movie that had a checklist of points to hit without a satisfying, overarching story to link it all together. Given the obvious set up for another movie, this is hardly the last film in the series so hopefully the next one can give us the big finish this one promised to provide.

First of all, I have been a huge Batman fan since a child, so I will say that I am slightly biased. Ill start with the Cons: Had some difficulty understanding Bane's almost Darth Vader voice. Pros: AMAZING Great intro and enjoyed the complexity of the movie Def. had emotional aspects Had some hilarious moments Great ending Christian Bale finally had did a fantastic acting job (other 2 he did well, just not great). I think he could be the strongest actor of the movie I can expand but in the name of not spoiling the movie further I will leave it as is. ENJOY!

Worth the IMAX ticket price.

Christopher Nolan filmed a majority of the film in IMAX, so it's definitely worth seeing in an IMAX theater. I won't post anything about the plot, except that you need to see it ASAP to avoid anybody else spoiling it for you, including new, longer trailers. I loved all 165 minutes of it. GO GO GO, NOW!

Great ending, too long!

For most of the movie I felt the story was too different from the original knightfall (batman vs Bain comics). With no Azriel and no Robin it was clear to me that the writers were pulling their ideas from thin air. However, just before the end as the plot came together I realized that I had been deceived and that this reaction must have been the writer's intention the whole time. I will won't tell you what happens but I will tell you this, if you are a true fan than you already know because every character in this movie has an origin and the writers stay true to that aspect for both batman and his villains. Before I saw this film being the fan that I am I already had an opinion of how this movie should go and although I was surprised by the out come I had already predicted I was still quite pleased. With that said it was a bit too long and the fighting was kind of dumb. Also, they had batman doing things I thought were out of charictor like an excessive use of gasoline on a bridge.

Nolan makes a trilogy finale that lives up to the billing.

Great story line, well written & acted, with the exception of Matthew Modine. Nolan's gritty realism makes it easy to be swept along. looking forward to the extended cut Blu-ray.
