For most of the movie I felt the story was too different from the original knightfall (batman vs Bain comics). With no Azriel and no Robin it was clear to me that the writers were pulling their ideas from thin air. However, just before the end as the plot came together I realized that I had been deceived and that this reaction must have been the writer's intention the whole time. I will won't tell you what happens but I will tell you this, if you are a true fan than you already know because every character in this movie has an origin and the writers stay true to that aspect for both batman and his villains. Before I saw this film being the fan that I am I already had an opinion of how this movie should go and although I was surprised by the out come I had already predicted I was still quite pleased. With that said it was a bit too long and the fighting was kind of dumb. Also, they had batman doing things I thought were out of charictor like an excessive use of gasoline on a bridge.

For a movie that is over 2.5 hours long, it goes pretty quick. Not the best of the trilogy, but absolutely worth seeing, especially in IMAX. There are some surprising twists but I feel most of the "shock and awe" was lost in the trailer.

Christopher Nolan filmed a majority of the film in IMAX, so it's definitely worth seeing in an IMAX theater. I won't post anything about the plot, except that you need to see it ASAP to avoid anybody else spoiling it for you, including new, longer trailers. I loved all 165 minutes of it. GO GO GO, NOW!

I didn't think that they would be able to out-do themselves after the last Dark Knight but they went above and beyond! The story is compelling, the acting is phenomenal, the action keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time, and the ending perfectly ties everything together. I have zero complaints and nothing but the highest praise for this movie from beginning to end. Absolutely brilliant in every way. Hollywood can learn a lot from movies like this one. I laughed, I cried, I bit all of my nails off, and I walked out of the theater believing that the last 3 hours couldn't have been better spent. This is what a movie-going experiece SHOULD be like! In an ever-growing sea of unoriginal, overdone, lackluster, and genuinely crappy movies, The Dark Knight Rises stands above them all and manages to renew your faith in the movie industry...a feat I didn't think was possible until now. Well done. TRULY well done!!!!

Great story line, well written & acted, with the exception of Matthew Modine. Nolan's gritty realism makes it easy to be swept along.
looking forward to the extended cut Blu-ray.
