Great ending, too long!

For most of the movie I felt the story was too different from the original knightfall (batman vs Bain comics). With no Azriel and no Robin it was clear to me that the writers were pulling their ideas from thin air. However, just before the end as the plot came together I realized that I had been deceived and that this reaction must have been the writer's intention the whole time. I will won't tell you what happens but I will tell you this, if you are a true fan than you already know because every character in this movie has an origin and the writers stay true to that aspect for both batman and his villains. Before I saw this film being the fan that I am I already had an opinion of how this movie should go and although I was surprised by the out come I had already predicted I was still quite pleased. With that said it was a bit too long and the fighting was kind of dumb. Also, they had batman doing things I thought were out of charictor like an excessive use of gasoline on a bridge.

Why must the movie theaters blast you out of your seats?? I felt I needed ear plugs for parts of this movie. that being said, I enjoyed it. I loved the set up for future movies, and the closure it gave for this one. NICE!!

A satisfying conclusion to a great trilogy

From my earliest memories, Batman has been my favorite superhero. Batman and Robin basically made a joke of the character and left it for dead. Christopher Nolan has created the Batman fan's dream with his trilogy. This movie is dark. Probably darker and bleaker than any other in the series (and that is saying something). Like every other Nolan film, the characterization is great for the most part. If you're worried about too many characters, don't be. Catwoman is executed perfectly, Bruce and Alfred are expanded on, Blake (new police officer) has a story, Bane has reasons for what he is doing and the ideas are top notch. The idea of giving his victims "hope" in the truest form of despair. This does not feel like a traditional superhero film and depending on how you feel about that will likely impact how you like the movie. If you like the others, it's a must see. It may not reach the level of The Dark Knight, but the fact that it is a question tells you the quality of this film.

The Dark Knight Rises

We loved this movie! It was long, but never slow or boring. The only problem was the speakers for the music were evidently just to our left and we could not hear all the dialog due to the music being too loud. We've already said we'll have to rent the movie when it comes out on DVD so we can hear what was said.

This is clearly the best Batman movie ever made. I haven't seen a movie that was this intense in a long time. This is a must see movie.
