    Masterpiece...

...Like I said Masterpiece. This movie is PHENOMENAL. Another Nolan movie that has broken the grounds of film making. If you're iffy on the going to see the movie because of the idea that the Joker was "the best", you'll be in for a thrilling surprise to see that this movie surpasses The Dark Knight. Catwoman/Anne Hathaway's opening moments of her character will have you cheering for her outstanding acting performance, and when Bane/Tom Hardy starts to terrorize everything and has a fight with Batman you'll forget everything about the Joker. The story is mind blowing and also fulfilling, you'll be wanting to give a standing applause before the movie is over. Dark Knight Rises finishes the trilogy in pure excellence.

Move over Mr. Spielberg et al.......

Chris Nolan's vision, direction and execution puts him in a league without peers. The Batman trilogy is 100% cinematic heroin. Mr. Nolan has now officially relegated his competition to mere purveyors of cheap imitations in the form of cinematic methadone.

The Most Glorious Super-Hero Film Ever!!!!

I considered "The Dark Knight" the best film of the last decade and when it came to "The Dark Knight Rises," I set my expectations incredibly high, knowing that Christopher Nolan could accomplish a task as monumental as providing a sequel to the film that changed the genre and culture in general. Christopher Nolan accomplished surpassing one of his own greatest works and shattered my expectations for this movie. It was superbly written, the acting was beyond expectations and the direction was masterful. This movie did so much more than be better than "The Dark Knight," and "The Avengers." This movie really tied the trilogy as a whole together through the character of Bane regarding the shadow of Ras Al Ghul and the impact of the crimes of Two Face and did so in stunning fashion. I couldn't take my eyes of this movie, my heart never stopped racing through this movie, and when it was over I couldn't stop shaking. This was absolutely glorious. LONG LIVE THE KNIGHT!!!!

?The Dark Knight Rises?, a total let down

This film may actually wind up being the biggest let down of all time. Let me start by saying that if you were in any way a fan of the comic books, stay away from this film. They pissed all over DC history like Marvel did in the X-Men series. What makes the film such a huge disappointment is partially the fact that the previous two films were original scripts involving characters from the Batman series. This movie attempts to mash together several classic story arcs in an uncoordinated fashion. If you?re not biased by being a Batman fan, just know that this film doesn?t compare to either of the first two. It runs 2 hours 45 minutes and could have easily been an hour and a half. Batman is only in about 25 minutes and by then you just don?t give a **** anymore. Staying awake for the first hour of the film was a real challenge. The story was very dialogue driven but at times it was very hard to understand what Bane was saying. They should have subtitled him.

    Alfred!

The best acting in the movie goes to Micheal Cane. This isnt to say that Bale and Hatheway's acting wasnt excellent because it was and its the glue that holds this movie together. It was a little difficult connecting the plot dots at times and there wasnt enough Batman, but thats true of all the Batman movies. Over all, inspite of a B movie feel at times, I highly recommend seeing this in IMAX!

    It has begun

Thought it was a great story line and had excellent effects. Can't wait to see what's next. Praises go out to the fallen Batman fans of Colorado and the families of the tragedy.

    IT WORKS

This does work as an ending to the trilogy, gathering all the loose ends from the first two movies and wrapping them up in a visually stunning climax. However, the first half of the movie is slow and the plot somewhat murky without any humor to remind us we are watching a film about a comic book hero. Bale, Hathaway, and Hardy performances seem strickly to the script and although sound, lack energy. Certainly none matched the level of Ledger's Joker. Some of the better acting moments come courtesy of Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Marioon Cotillard. Nolan does impress using the IMAX format to create scenes of chaos that are larger than life. I haven't seen a 3D film that is as visually engrossing as this film. Definitely worth seeing, particularly in an IMAX theater. One last note - after the end credits roll if you feel like you got a two-for-one and saw a replay of Rocky III in additon to Batman, you aren't alone.

    Satisfying Conclusion

Great ending to the Batman trilogy.
Ties together elements from previous movies and lets Batman and the other characters develop and shine as the heros they are.
Great camera work and story. See it in IMAX if possible.

Boring, and too many story lines going on at once.

Way too many story lines in this movie, it was like I was watching three movies at once. And I will never be able to believe that Anne Hathaway could kick anyones a$$... ever.

    Masterpiece

My favorite of the trilogy and I'm sad to see it end. Jason Gordon Levitt stood out, and the rest of the cast was amazing. The Knightfall saga is handled almost seamlessly. Go see it!

    The Dark Knight Rises

In the midst of tragedy surrounding this film, I am so glad I still opted to see it. The movie was well worth it! This movie is the third and final installment in a trilogy of films by Christopher Nolan who definitely steers away from the comic book look and feel of prior Batman films. He delves deep into individual character's stories, heroes and villains, and references the past two films in doing so. The most enjoyable part of the film was not the action, or what I saw visually, but it was actually the story driving it all. Gotham is a city influenced for good or bad by broken people. Bruce Wayne, Bane, and all other characters are simply people broken by horrific personal tragedies. The morality tale of it all focuses on how one handles those tragedies. You still receive tons of action, violence, and all of those other qualities that one looks for in such a well known film.; however, the story is what makes this movie such a worthwhile see.

    Great closure to the trilogy

    by

This movie was awesome! I might have helped I wathed it on IMAX :-)

The character development was great and the action was explosive.

I really like that the movie linked with the previous two movies and close all loops, even if it open a new one...Robin.

Went Twice In IMAX - Worth Every Penny

Went into this with limited expectations, third and final installment in this reboot, not expecting much. What a great summer flick! Definitely a popcorn movie, Anne Hathaway made a great Cat Woman, JGL as Robin was too much (in a good way), and Gary Oldman finally got some lines. Christian Bale suffered and struggled more than ever, and the scene with Michael Caine almost brought a tear to my eyes. Tom Hardy played an OK Bane, but liked him much better in Nemesis.

Must see, worth the bucks for IMAX. Heck, my much older sister saw it in IMAX too in Atlanta, and even she liked it!
