As the knife-wielding psychopath, The Joker, Heath Ledger's performance goes beyond memorable to something unforgettable, a definitive performance by an actor we hardly got to know. This is not a retread of Jack Nicholson’s dark comedic portrayal of the green haired adversary but, rather, a peep show into the brilliantly deranged mind of evil. The mirthless grin, lipstick smeared across his chops like some drunken old bar fly, the Joker constantly licking his scarred cheeks only adds to this deadly serious portrayal of Batman’s arch nemesis. Aaron Eckhart plays Harvey Dent and the hideously deformed Two-Face with excellence. Maggie Gyllenhaal is a pleasing substitution for Katie Holmes as assistant D.A. Rachel Dawes. Christian Bale is, once again, the darkly conflicted hero and his fire in the role erases all memory of anyone who has ever played the part before him. This movie is worth seeing more than once. And I will - as soon as the nightmares stop.

Utterly amazing. I saw the movie at a screening. It will truly stimulate your senses and have you at the edge of your seat drooling for more. The joker's portrayal is the best ever and is so intricate and evil that you fall in love. Apart from the commercial advertisement, this movie is a lot more than meets the eye. It is a spectacle and phenomenal to say the least. I believe this is one of the best movies I have seen because it offers anything and everything. From a good story to a provocative, fun loving villain, The Dark Knight delivers a punch not seen in many years. If you thought the first one was good, be ready for something even better in The Dark Knight.

In all the previews i've seen in the movie theaters, there have been few times where i've heard the sound of thunderous applause after the preview of the upcoming movie. The only time this has happened was it previewed star wars episodes one, three, and the lord of the rings. I found myself standing up and applauding with everyone else after the preview was over for Dark Knight, this movie is gonna be the movie of the year for me considering Batman Begins blew me away. Definitely a must see, I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS AWESOME MOVIE TO COME OUT

Wow,just wow. This movie has defined the comic book genre itself. It has everything. It has humor, drama, and pure joker violence. Heath ledger's final performance will not be forgotten as he makes the Joker into evil in its purest form.
The elements in this movie make for one of the best. Bale's Batman is shadowed with interesting conflicts,Lt.(now commisioner)Gordon is played brilliantly by Oldman.
Posthumous oscar for Ledger!
