    Just go see it...now preferably

I'm still stunned and I'm still excited...This is the best Batman ever made. Heath Ledger's performance is one of the best I've ever seen in my life. Very eerie, at that. I saw Batman Begins on IMAX 4 times and I'll probably go see this one 6 times...Don't read about it, don't watch any trailers, just go see it. I swear there is not one ounce of disappointment in the whole 2 1/2 hours of cinematic glory. Also, if there is an IMAX near you do NOT see it on a regular 35mm format! Nolan meant this to be a IMAX powerhouse. I will not go see it on the regular screen. Christian Bale is as suave as ever and the twist will keep you on the edge of your seat the WHOLE time. There isn't many words possible to describe this none other than, THIS FILM IS THE WHOLE REASON WE ARE IN LOVE WITH THE THEATER EXPERIENCE!

If you believe that Bruce Wayne can dress like a Bat...

.... then you're already way ahead of the curve on this one. Yes, I'm sure you've heard about Ledger's outstanding performance as the Joker - but it's not just a "say-nothing-ill-of-the-dead" review. It's a truly original, as well as faithful performance. Jack Nicholson didn't really perform the genius of the Joker as much as his craziness; it was more like Nicholson doing macabre vaudeville. It wasn't the real Joker. This is the real Joker through and through, but re-envisioned with a dose of realism.
The entire cast is the strongest of any recent movie I've seen, but I will say there's one moment where Bale's raspy voice as the Dark Knight is kind of awkward. No movie's perfect, but this one may well inspire a three-time viewing.

The Dark Knight: The IMAX Experience

This movie is awesome. I've seen it three times, all three times at an IMAX theater. The story is realistic, the story is memorable, the story is entertaining but most of all, Heath Ledger steals the show. I agree with what I'd heard, that he buried Jack Nicholson's Joker. Granted, Jack's performance was twenty years ago and times have changed but let's be real. Twenty years from now, should there be a new series of Dark Knight movies, I'd place my bet tonight that Heath's performance can't be bested. I can't wait till it's on cable in hi-def and I know I'll own the DVD once it comes out. Hallelujah to having Batman back with a vengeance. Joel Schumacher ruined the franchise years ago but Christopher Nolan put it back where it belongs. On top.
