The Croods turned out to be a great flick. It was funny and had heart touching moments. The animation is great with plenty of character variety and lots of vistas. On top of all that, it was smart in a subtle way, being a film about the unrealistic way that the continents realistically separated and how the new species of man may have interacting with the old. In reality, it may have been more tragic that depicted here, but I'm glad they stuck to the cartoon stuff. Go watch it!

We took our six year old son and eight year old daughter to see the Croods 3D and they both enjoyed it, as did we. They're not ones to like anything too scary or violent, or too action-packed, and this hit the right blend of mild scares, chases, action, and comedy. It was heavy on slapstick, which worked well for us. Most of all the story was quite good; touching but not overly sappy. The 3D worked well overall, though in a couple of spots they went for effects that were a bit dizzying. The story line does provide good fodder for conversation with kids afterwards, there's a lot they can learn from it and think about, but there is also a lot to laugh about after, too.

What dad can't relate to Grug and how us dad's don't get it, but we know it...very enjoyable humor with direct connection to family life today. Go see it and enjoy ...

The Croods takes an awfully long time to get going but, once it does, it's a colorful, touching and entertaining ride. Not for the youngest kids, but fun for ages 10 and up, and a tug at the heartstrings of those of us whose daughters are growing up far too fast. Enjoy!

Had some of Hollywood's most well-known names for characters but in the end, its a movie for the kids. A couple of funny moments...not terrible, not great.
