Was a little skeptical about going to see it as the name wasn't very eye catching. I decided to take my kids to see it. Ordered tickets via "Fandango"...... Anyway its a good movie and gives a great theme to children not showing there feelings towards there parents. Great movie...

You pays your money and you gets what you expects.
This is basically "Ice Age" for the humans (even with a sloth Skrat surrogate). It's extremely well animated, with vivid visuals and great craftsmanship. But the story needs polish -- three characters (Grug, Eep and Guy) have engaging stories going for them, but the rest of the clan is completely neglected in this regard (the son and grandmother are just one joke characters and the mother is so vanilla she might as well have no speaking lines at all). There is, however, a surprising and subtle underlying message about tradition and security not making for a particularly worthwhile life -- more insight than I'd expect for a movie like this.
It's a good family movie and an entertaining diversion -- certainly worth a look, but they could have done much more with it.

Pleasantly surprised by this movie, believing it was going to be an "Ice Age" ripoff, and those have been going downhill fast. But "The Croods" was full of silly (not stupid) laughs that just leave you smiling. Worth a watch, especially if you have children.

Great family flick!!! Took our 4 year old daughter last night and she absolutely loved it! Mom and dad are huge fans of animated family films and this one is right up there with Despicable Me and How To Train Your Dragon!!! The 3D was great, she kept trying to touch everything! We all laughed our butts off and at certain points were worried for the characters!! The voice overs were GREAT! Couldn't have picked a better cast for this movie! The Sloth was our daughters favorite part!! Great imagination made this movie what it is.

We went with our 9yr old son who thoroughly enjoyed it just as much as we did. (3-D) At lot of the things he could relate to! Loved the underlying message of family value, trust, change and growth. Funny and enjoyable.
Excellent computer graphics and very well written story line.
