This movie is very factual. It really made me think about what it would have been like to live back then and be very thankful that I don't. Some reviewers said the movie was slow but that wasn't my experience at all. I thought Avatar was slow and that had a lot of action but it was boring to me. This movie really made me think and I don't recall a single time wishing it would move along.I wonder if southern audiences will like it more than northerners.Robert Redford did a wonderful job taking real life history and presenting it in a honest and engaging way. That is no easy task since audiences are used to spiced up exaggerations of life. Staying true to the story is something I greatly respect. Great job.

I was pleased at just how well done this movie was. Certainly a different view of history per say. Director did well via bringing out the best in the actors. Well done by defense attorney and defendant! Made me angry with government/military. Movie well done and actors did their jobs well when bring out emotions in the viewers. Not one that children would relate to or understand the meaning behind. Adults whom know history and understand the message this film delivers, will find it captivating!

This is easily my favorite movie so far this year. The acting is superb and the story enthralling. I keep wondering why this movie is not getting the praise it deserves. Has Robert Redford pssed off the movie community or something? When I tell people to go and see it they (mostly) respond that they're not familiar with it. I know we Americans are not familiar with this part of our history. We don't teach our children about a time when the Constitution was set aside in the name of revenge. Fascinating, I tell ya'! From the opening scenes I was captivated and during only a brief time in the film, I remained that way throughout, mostly due to the fine acting of Robin Wright (no Penn) and James McAvoy. There are many other small roles and cameos filled with actors you know and love. If you're sick of kid flicks and 3D, leave the kids at home and go see this intelligent movie. I hope you like it as much as I did. Who knows, you might just learn something too.

The Conspirator Reveals The Truth

Woven Together with the history we know is the history not generally known. If you think you know your history, this may be a good place to learn what you may not know. Who was Mary Surrat and what was her involvement in the plot to assassinate a sitting President, Vice-President and Secretary of State? Who rose to her defense? Why? Was it legal to have a military court try a civilian? What is justice and how has our concept of justice developed? What does it take to be a hero, to live by your convictions, to make a difference? This is really a great movie that will stand the test of time. Take a step back in time and revisit issue which confront us today. Great Fil. You feel as if you are part of history. Definitely a MUST GO.
