    Narnia: Prince Caspian

We took our two children ages 9 & 11 on opening night looking forward to another great Narnia experience.

My daughter enjoyed the costumes and fairy tale aspect of the story while my son liked the sword fighting and talking animals. Like my son, I too enjoyed the special effects of the animals coming to life and the humor had me laughing out loud on several occations.

I think the movie falls short in creating "that magical experience of Narnia" that the 1st movie did so well. All in all, a safe movie choice but a bit more violent and longer than needed to be.

The very worst part of the experience was that
FANDANGO once again FAILED in the ability to have the kiosk ticket machines working . . . AGAIN!! So I paid a $4.00 convenience charge and waited four times longer to get in to see the movie . . .EEHHEM Fandango, if your going to sell a service please service your customers!

    Thanks for reading,

    Peter the Movie Meter

    A Shameless Sequel

This movie really lived up to, and is better than, the first!!!! It does justice to the book, and one can really see the development in the story and sense the overall darker, more grown-up tone. However, it can still be enjoyed by all ages!!!!!! I have already been to see it twice and I am hoping to see it at least one more time in theaters!

    A Bigger Story!

As a Christian I am admittedly biased towards the Narnia films considering C.S. Lewis was one of the most well known Christian apologists of the 20th century, and fans of lewis will not be disappointed. There are many Biblical principles to be found throughout the movie such as the power of childlike faith, edmond's testimony, and obvious end times references.

In terms of entertainment value, you must see it! Prince Caspian has a much larger and far more engaging story than the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and the acting has improved drastically. I saw the midnight showing of this last night and loved every minute of it. If you enjoyed the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, you will REALLY enjoy Prince Caspian.

There are a few references to an adolescent relationship, though, if you follow the 'story line,' the character involved is technically an adult.

As a fan of CS Lewis and a lover of the Chronicles of Narnia...

    by futbolz

They did an absolutely fabulous job. The characters were well acted and you were held spellbound through out the entire movie. A job well done. I will be seeing it again before it leaves the theaters.

It is a little dark for little ones if they are not familiar with the story line. There is fighting, death and a kiss. Our 7 year old and 10 year old want to see this movie again.

Prince Caspian is better than the first, magnificent movie and story

I thought this movie was way better than the 1st Chronicals of Narnia. The cinematography was awesome and the story was great as well. It moves fairly quick yet you're able to stay with the characters and story and the action scenes were great as well. The battle scenes were done very tasteful for children and some of the characters were unique and exciting - - such as the mouse who's played by Eddie Lizzard. There's suspense, drama, and good sarcasm and humor as well. This picture is great for the family and Disney did a wonderful job. I would definitely give this a GO!

    Awesome!

I love this first but this one was so much better. I recommend anyone to go see it. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire movie.

    Thought it was Pretty Good...

    by eyeful

It's worth seeing on the big screen if you're a fan of the previous filmI
I thought it was a decent adaptation (It's been awhile since I've read it)
A tad long at 140 mins...
Read some negative reviews about it being too violent for the kiddies
I don't get that, there's a lot of sword clanking but very little blood
Clever editing and cut away's keep the action from being too nasty
Yeah, Aslan is only in the last 20 mins. But that's faithful to the book!
    Right?

    Way to Go Prince Caspian!

    by UdoA180

I took the kids to see the 12:01 am showing of this movie because we were so excited. The movie did not let us down. I have read the book and the movie does take some liberties. However, the story, the screen play, the acting, the emotion--everything was in line and we were NOT disappointed!

Too bad C.S. Lewis didn't think of it...

From the previews, I knew that Prince Caspian didn't follow the book, however I didn't realize just how different it would be from the book.

Now, if you love the Chronicles of Narnia, don't let what I just said scare you. You'll be able to get past all the changes, with the possible exception of Susan snogging Caspian, especially since Susan and Caspian barely speak with each other in the book. The smooch happens at the very end, so the whole movie isn't spoiled.

The changes which were made didn't improve the story, but they didn't ruin the story either. The film was absolutely fantastic. Certainly as good, if not better than the first.

There were a couple reviews that talked about the blatant religious overtones in the movie. I didn't see them and niether did my husband. As a Christian and a fan of the novels, I think I would have been able to see them easily if they were there.

Bottom line; great movie! See it.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

    by NowV48

The movie was evenly paced until the final battle and then began to drag out and become repetative. It was somewhat like a mouse on a wheel. Location and sets were fantastic to look at!!! Effects were great, Aslan (lion) was beautiful. Too bad he barely made an appearance in this film. Reepicheep (mouse) was such a noble character and boy can he fight. Many cute little side jokes with this one. Was overall a good film and left you in a pleasant mood.

    Well worth watching!

I wasn't expecting Prince Caspian as good as it was. The characters in the movie were very well-developed, and the story was great. Also, the animation in the movie was incredible; the movie definitely harnessed some good, magical moments. Although not completely like the book, like most movies, the impact of the movie definitely makes up for the lack thereof. There were many funny, entertaining moments in the movie. Just to note, this movie appears to be much darker than the first. The thematic atmosphere it exudes is similar to the LOTR movies.

    Where did the time go???

Over two hours later, I walk out wondering where the time went. This movie was better then the first. The characters and actors seemed much more comfortable in role. There was plenty of action and suspense highlighting the main points of the book. As someone that has actually read the book (albeit many years ago), the only thing that I can fault any of the movies with is that there are a number of details that the movie must leave out because of time.

If you haven't read the book, I would suggest that you do that to complement the movie. It will fill in a number of details.
