You know what you are going to get when you go see a Will Ferrell movie- but this one reached new lows. All of the funny stuff is in the trailers and commercials on tv. The
rest couldnt be shown- as it was rude, crude and disturbingly unfunny. I guess if you are a
20something and used to using fowl language in every sentence- you may find this hillarious, but a mature person will find this an affront to family life and life in America in general. There was only about 13 people at a mid-day Saturday show. Didnt hear anyone laughing out loud and when it was over, seemed like everyone ran for the door. It was just a tragic attempt. His best work was "Elf" and I will NEVER go see another one of his films unless he can clean it up and be the old funny Will from SNL- not the dude who must be desperate for a paycheck and do and say anything written for him. I cant believe he would think this is what the public wants from him. I feel sorry anyone who finds this entertaining.

Movie was funny, lots of laughs. There was a considerable amount of very crude language which did not add to the film. I'm not certain why they felt this language was necessary. I would have rated higher if not for the language.

Given the role Citizens United is playing in our upcoming election, there is much opportunity for satirical messaging. Portraying the Kochs Bros.et al., owners of politicians, for the hooligans they truly are - and pointing out the lack of real information in political campaigns in favor of deliberate diversionary "dumbing down" of messages, to become pieces of red meat to satisfy the extremes - are both truly important messages - right now! The excessive use of foul language along with crude and rude scenes were completely unnecessary and actually took away from the movie. I was left wondering - who was the target audience for this movie - do you think this will get them to vote? (no) I had high hopes for the movie and left very disappointed. Went with my 13 year old son, who likes Z.G. He did get that the Motch Bros. were the Kochs, but didn't think the movie was very funny or as good as previous Z.G. movies.
Only reason I rated it so-so is the importance of the message.

The Campaign was a lot funnier than I expected it to be. Will Ferrell has not had a really good movie in a while, but this one was not bad. It was no Anchorman, Old School, Hangover, or any of those, but entertaining none the less. But pretty predictable as well
