The Call

It was a very good movie> Not your typical movie that you can predict, one where you know what is going to happen. It was funny everyone in the theater kept talking and telling her what to do.. I enjoyed it and it is a must see. It definitely did not end the way you would expect it to. And it did not end in a way that it would make you mad. I liked it and would go see it again.

The acting was not the issue with this movie, however, what was this director thinking? This movie was an insult to my intelligence. Unless I'm missing the fact that this movie is in the Drama category, not the Horror category, this film is totally unbelievable. Extremely disappointed that an actor with Oscar behind her name could make a film like this. It's unfortunate to dispel someone's hard work, but if I were this director, I would look for some real advice before I would take on another script as bad as this one.

I love Halle Berry and Morris Chestnut to death but they had to have some big names in order to sell this movie. Poor. Worst ending of any movie in 2013. I understand companies are trying to cut cost but it's really affecting the movie by cutting the time. Would not recommend anyone go see this movie. Interesting beggining, all down hill after that.

portrayal of how to treat the mentally ill

Movie kept me on the edge of my seat, but I'm disappointed in the ending. Main character was obviously mentally ill, and -- spoiler alert -- he is locked in an underground shelter to die a slow tortorous death. Yes, I understand this person had tortured and killed his victims, but would a person do this if they were mentally healthy? No. Is mental illness something someone chooses? No. It is a brain disorder. There are genetic components and usually something in their environment (like the death of sibling) that triggers it. If someone had a brain tumor that made them behave like this killer, we would not think it's OK to torture and kill him, but it's still considered acceptable and even desirable to do it to the mentally ill. I think future generations will be aghast when they look at movies like this for their treatment of people with brain disoders and how they manipulate audiences to want them tortured and killed.
