The Call .... 911 ... Go See This

Critics reviews werent the greatest for this movie, and I started questioning myself if I should see it or not, well am pleased to say that I did go and see it, and the critics were way off on their reviews as far as I am concerned. The movie iteslf had a real good story to it, there was alot of emotion, parts that would leave you on the edge of your seat, wanting to jump on the screen and help, one part also that could make you cry. The acting throughout the movie was very good also, Halle Berry, as always was great in the movie, the character playing the bad guy was also good, his expressions really took him over the edge at making you believe he is really psycho. I took my wife and we both really enjoyed the movie, and on the way out listening to others they seemed to really like it also. I would give this close to 3 out of 4 stars myself .... THE reCALL

Months ago, when I first saw the trailer for this movie, I immediately wrote it off. Why go see this when they showed everything in the trailer?

I decided to give it a watch. Besides, with an R rating the trailer couldn't reveal everything.

The trailer does show way, way, WAY too much of the good stuff. I can understand this with Halle Berry having a few flops (deserved like Catwoman and undeserved like Cloud Atlas and Movie 43). Despite this, there is enough to keep you thrilled and chilled. The acting is solid, and the plot keeps loose ends and logic leaps in check until the very end.

This movie would be excellent for someone that hasn't seen the trailer a lot. For someone that has, there is still enough substance to make for a good movie.

There are no scenes during or after the credits.

Pretty Good

This movie grabbed me right away and did not let go until the end! There was a part of the story that I felt was waaaaay under-developed, but other than that, it was pretty good. I give it a solid B.

A Good Movie!

I enjoyed the movie from beginning to end. Yes, it does leave you in suspense on the edge of your seat but the ending is so.........leading up to "The Call #2".

This is a tense , edge of your seat thriller about the 911 service [and the not-as-well-documented job that they perform] . Halle plays a 911 operator that gets a disturbing call from a teenaged girl being kidnapped . Halle makes a mistake that ends badly for the girl and it affects her deeply . Morris is her policeman/boyfriend that tries and console her ["You did the best you could, Baby!"] but when another kidnapping occurs about 6 months later , Halle connects the dots ["It's the same man!"] and the hunt is on [Halle wants to make sure that the same thing does not happen , again] . Abigail plays the latest girl in the serial killers growing repertoire . Michael plays the psychotic kidnapper [and he does a disturbingly good job of playing a psychotic kidnapper] . It is fast-paced and keeps you on your seat , trying to guess what will happen , next . I enjoyed it and would buy it on DVD.

How Could This Have Gone/Ended So Wrong....

I have to say that Halle did an incredible job in this movie. The acting is strong. The scenes are realistic and it's the most edge of your seat excitement of any movie in months. The issue comes in that it was probably one of the worst endings of a very good film that I can remember. It was a complete and utter let down from what the rest of the movie was. Seriously, I can not imagine that they did not test screen this for audiences. Had they done that, they could have corrected the issues and this would have been amazing from start to finish.

The Call keeps you on the edge of your seat

The Call kept me engaged for the entire time. It is not a happy feel good movie: instead it is realistic and suspenseful. Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin were outstanding in their roles. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

Triller

This is a wonderful thriller. Both my husband and I enjoyed it very much. Halle Berry did a great job, as always. With so many movies this past year that have really disappointed, this was a pleasant surprise.

Halle does it again?! Strength of will and take no prisoners attitude in the suspense packed thriller! Certainly kept me on the edge of the seat! Highly recommend and you will be physically exhausted by the end of this flick.

Horrible.

I love Halle Berry and Morris Chestnut to death but they had to have some big names in order to sell this movie. Poor. Worst ending of any movie in 2013. I understand companies are trying to cut cost but it's really affecting the movie by cutting the time. Would not recommend anyone go see this movie. Interesting beggining, all down hill after that.

not well thought out plot

The plot requires that the main character makes some decisions that make little sense, especially at the end of the movie. the ending although maybe satisfying to some is ridiculous.

That was... disturbing

This movie was just messed up.. It was really good though, and it explains why he kidnaps girls. In one part, I was in tears.. I'm a female myself, and it was just messed up what he does.. But you should go see it, DO NOT bring the kids. DO NOT.

What a ride!

Within five minutes of the film I was grabbed by the throat and taken on a ride that did not relent until the ending credits rolled. The film is eerie, at times frustrating and a bit creepy but effective in eliciting strong feelings for the main characters. The film gives great insights as to what the 9-1-1 call center operators jobs are like and the stress that they must daily face. I yelled at the screen, covered my eyes and pumped my fists with the rest of the audience at key points. See it and judge it for yourself.

It was a very good movie> Not your typical movie that you can predict, one where you know what is going to happen. It was funny everyone in the theater kept talking and telling her what to do.. I enjoyed it and it is a must see. It definitely did not end the way you would expect it to. And it did not end in a way that it would make you mad. I liked it and would go see it again.
