Took my 3yr old and she loved it. I think I loved it more. I was concerned because it's PG13, but my daughter loved the characters... even the evil ones. She loved Fish and Eggs too. It was so much fun!

This movie depicts many ideas & philosophies that we so desperately need. I see a little of the French Revolution in here. Anyone who doesn't understand this movie clearly does not understand history.. I actually signed in fandango just to give this review.. I will get this movie when it comes out on DVD for my children to see!! It is for adults & children to see.. It is so wonderful to see animated movies like these instead of garbage nonsense... Brilliant!!!!!!!!

Like the Lego movie, this animated film is brilliantly conceived and executed. There are some scary images and ideas (too scary for small children, I would think).

My husband and I brought our kids to see Box Trolls opening weekend, the theater was surprisingly empty, even though it was an earlier showing... My kids mostly enjoyed it. My daughter, however, found herself quite scared a number of times. My husband and I both feel that it was by far, the worst kids movie we have seen in quite some time. The trailers are deceiving, as well as the commentary from the kids that were interviewed outside of a theater. The character that supposedly says, "jelly" repeatedly, doesn't actually say it as frequent as you are led to think, and certainly not as funny. Overall, I'm quite disappointed with the outcome of the movie, but I'm happy my kids enjoyed it.
