Sofia Coppola's Interesting Insight into Teenage Obsession with Fame

Sofia Coppola dishes out another intriguing, yet slow- burn indie flick. This time, Sofia delves into a much more hard- hitting story of teenagers infatuation with glitz and glamour. Sofia has her certain way of directing: she tends to focus on characters for a long time with no movement of the camera. To some, this can get tedious, but for anyone going in not just for the story, but for the directing itself, The Bling Ring delivers Coppola's usual directing. The story can get repetitive (they steal from many houses and occasionally go back to the same house, so it begins to be the same thing every time), but I knew what it was going to be like because I did much research on the case before seeing the movie. Final Consensus: The Bling Ring shows Coppola making a ripped from the headlines story come true in the best way possible. Glossy and articulate, The Bling Ring is an fascinating turn for Coppola and presents her at her desirable best.

What I learned from those Bling Ringers

After months of build up on my facebook feed with pictures of Emma Watson in a sexy, in the middle of dancing, pose picture, I was excited. I am a big fan of director (thankfully no longer actress) Sofia Coppola. Her film, as most of them are, are film, is dark, yet fun. The music score is just right. The direction is seamless and beautiful. Each character in the film has a personal rise and fall. The actors were all great. Would I recommend this movie, absolutely! Especially if you enjoy indie-arty films. And, films by Sofia Coppola. And the actress Emma Watson. And, just so much more. I think a lot of people will enjoy this film. There is just so much to it. You really get caught up in everything they are doing; the excitement is palpable. You leave a little bit stunned; a tad in awe of the entitlement of some of those kids. I am looking at you Rebecca On! Top Ten things I learned from this movie 10.) The media is a great place to learn what celebrity homes are.

If it weren't for Emma Watson, we wouldn't have been interested in this movie! We will go see anything she is in, just adore her. I've heard that she agreed to do this film because of her relationship with Coppola, but it was a very different role for her. However, this was not one of our favorites. Maybe it was because the outcome was so predictable (and publicly known), but there were no surprises in the movie. The acting was ok. My teenage daughter was with me, and even she was unimpressed. We will be on the lookout for Emma's next film!

I liked it, but not as much as I hoped to

Good performances from the young actors, and a great from-real-events premise, but it got somewhat repetitive in the middle, with too many too-familiar scenes of characters out-of-control when given too much access too quickly to drugs and money.
