Sofia Coppola has a genius knack for getting the audience in touch with the true thought process and emotions of her characters. The viewer is put right in the middle of the Bling Ring, and can sit back and enjoy the ride through lavish robberies, teenage mentality, and complete lack of morality. The cast does a superb job of imitating the celebrity-obsessed, self-centered, teenagers that, unfortunately, exist in our society. Emma Watson continues to impress with her performance here, and is making her mark as a force to be reckoned with. If you typically enjoy the directors work, you will definitely love to hate the characters of this film. I think people forget that these were teenagers stealing millions of dollars worth of goods. That alone should leave a person in awe. I give it an "A" for it's authenticity, ostentatious adolescence, and pure awesomeness.

It's sort of strange to get a ripped from the headlines movie from Sophia Coppola, but I liked Somewhere, about the other side of the fame issue, much better. The best part of this story is when they finally get caught. It's a movie that makes you think, but not happy. It would be easier if you could write them (members of the Bling Ring) off as stupid kids, but when two of them have a mom who homeschools them in The Secret - well, what can you expect? This is a movie where Lindsay Lohan and Paris HIlton are the victims and upstanding members of society. Paris Hilton has a cameo and her actual house also plays itself. I was appalled at the spelling and grammar in my younger sister's high school yearbook. Now look! Another couple generations and kids won't be able to tie their shoes or tell time - oh wait...

Sofia Coppola had a difficult task of taking a true story about some boring rich kids but there wasn't much there to work with. Most interesting movies have interesting characters but these kids have such dead personalities that they make zombies look like superheros. It was enlightening how much "stuff" famous people have that they don't even notice when it goes missing. I just found myself going over my To-Do list in my head instead of watching the movie. You won't miss much if you don't go.

One of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. Boring, shallow script. No depth to the characters. Bad acting. Painful to watch. A waste of money. Only good thing was the sound-track.

The movie went beyond the normal cliches and really took a stab at the obsession with celebrity culture. Certainly a cautionary tale, but also left us with the question of where blame should be placed. Go see it!!
