While "Marigold" has been out all month, it just began playing in middle TN (Nashville) area theaters today. I had seen several references to it-- especially on PBS, but didn't think I would get to see it locally. Since it showed up in the list at a few local theaters today, I thought I better take a couple hours this afternoon and see it. I can say it exceeded my already high expectations. The story is full of great material, but as portrayed by this cast it was amazing! To see such a collection of seasoned pros bring their "A" game to this effort was really a rare synthesis of all the right elements that make a truly great and memorable movie.
Take the time to go see this and you'll not be disappointed. There some life lessons and things to make you think-- characteristics that are increasingly scarce in American movie theaters. "Marigold" is a great exception to the typical & forgettable flicks of late.... So Enjoy!

This movie has a lot of feeling. You get to know the characters-they all pull you in-whether you like them or not. FABulous CAsT! This is a must see. Then you can tell me how much YOU liked it!

I'm in the 50-something target audience and just loved it. Agree that there was some flatness to script and plot, but what actors and visuals! It was a delicious diversion after a busy week with lots of grey weather.

This was a lively and touching story with characters that were interesting and multi-dimensional. The setting, Jaipur, India, was authentic. Streets scenes in Jaipur were some of the best I've seen with movies located in India. Dialogue was honest and contributed to the complexities of the characters. I both laughed and cried. I will say that I expect it will appeal more the older movie-goers because most of the characters were seniors.

This is a VERY British movie - about aging Brits retiring in their golden years to a foreign country and trying to live very different lives from the ones they left behind in England. Each character has a story to tell and the scenery is quite lovely. It's funny and sweet but also has a sadness to it.
