First Image from ‘The Avengers’

It’s not much, but it’s a tease worth writing about. With production officially getting underway on the first-ever, big-budgeted live-action superhero team-up movie, The Avengers, Disney has released the first image from the set of the 2012 movie with a press release announcing the start of production. And yes, we say Disney because this will the first Marvel movie produced under the Disney banner. Remember the Mouse House acquired Marvel last year, and while Paramount is still teaming with Marvel on the release of Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, it’ll be Disney from there on out.
Here’s a bit from the press release that may be of interest to you: “Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” and “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers” is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime.  When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as SHIELD, finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster.
Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, “Marvel’s The Avengers” brings together the mightiest Super Hero characters as they all assemble together on screen for the first time.  The star studded cast of Super Heroes will be joined by Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother") as Agent Maria Hill of SHIELD, as well as Tom Hiddleston (“Wallander”) and Stellan Skarsgård (“Angels & Demons,” “Mamma Mia!”) who will both reprise their respective roles as Loki and Professor Erik Selvig from the upcoming Marvel Studios’ feature “Thor.”
‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ Pics and New Trailer
As we inch closer to the release of Michael Bay’s third and final Transformers movie this July 1st, a couple of new images have arrived online ahead of the brand spanking new trailer, which is set to debut on Apple later today at 4:30PM PST (7:30PM EST).
The images, which are shots from the upcoming trailer, show us our two leads – played by Shia LaBeouf and the Megan Fox replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – as well as a nasty-looking robot that looks to be causing mass destruction as it hovers over city buildings. Both LaBeouf and Whiteley look pretty freaked out, too, so perhaps they’re watching that thing torch the city too. Looking forward to the trailer – definitely check back later on and we’ll post it for you.

Also you mention that bats isn't a superhero? Well neither is Iron Man. Tony Stark is basically a carbon copy of Batman character. Spoilt rich boy with high IQ and has daddy issues. But yes Avengers will likely be one of the highest selling movies ever especially since they will have the army of Whedon nerds behind tthem

Well, I believe he was saying Batman isn't really a superhero because he's really more an anti-hero, where-as Iron Man is an opportunist hero.

No he was saying he doesn't have powers. I've heard people use that argument before. But i'd personally love to have the super power of being Super rich. Most people don't look at it the way you do, as each hero having a specialized corner of the hero market. Yes, new batman is an anti hero. but he wasn't always as dark and violent as he his these days. But i understand your point, but the other guy wasn't thinking your way

Cookie Chan you must be a retard to say that Marvel Characters are more well known then DC. How many there were 5 Superman movies, 1 live action Batman t.v. show, several cartoon versions of batman, Justice League cartoons, 7 Batman movies, Wonder Woman t.v. show, Smallville, Teen Titans, etc.. I'm not saying there isn't good from Marvel too. Spiderman is one of my favorites, everybody in the 80's loved Hulk thanks to Lou Ferrigno, but the others remained relatively unknown to the mainstream movie goer (non comic lover) So don't compare the 2. I never liked Superman, but there was a time when he was the most popular character on earth. Batman is the current. 10 years ago Spiderman was.

I think you're only partially right. Generally speaking, Marvel characters are much more successful and well-known than DC characters. Superman and Batman are really the only successful and well-known DC characters (The WW tv show was too long ago to count imo). That said, Superman and Batman are at least as popular as any Marvel character if not more so, and most people have at least heard of Wonder Woman. The Avengers always kind of felt like Marvel's attempt to make money off of characters that couldn't carry a comic of there own (e.g Thor) and others that are popular but not THAT popular. The Justice League on the other hand has all the aforementioned DC characters, and for that reason I think a Justice League film has more potential.

The Avengers is going to pwn every movie ever made. The anticipation alone is going to be sooo huge from hear on out that it'll will most likely blow all box office records through the roof. Justice League, even though I hate the Justice League will most likely come into a close 2nd in the long run behind the Avengers because Marvel is more well known and loved. Doesn't matter if Disney bought Marvel, The Avengers will have the same amount of kick *** action as it would even if Disney didn't buy it out.

As I said in my other comment, either your a creeper or a homo. Choose wisely even though it's a lose lose situation for you. Avengers will pwn J. League. If there is anything I am a master at in this world, it's horror movies, comics and vintage cars. Sure I was wrong about W.F.E. going up against Rio but that just goes to prove that there is way too much *** kissing in the film industry and that people have no taste in good kids movies. However, in time, once both films come out then we'll see who knows more about comics.

Well maybe you might like and know B-Man and S-man more than the Marvel Avengers characters but that doesn't mean that is the same for everyone else. Looking at sales for comics, action figures and other merchandise Marvel sells more and has a wider fan base than DC but that is for one reason and one reason only and that is because when DC first started out it was an underground industry, this was before they abbreviated their name, back when it was just "Detective Comics," and they took pride in this because fans would have to work hard to find comics they were looking for and all that where as Marvel had more money backing it up, therefore, more advertising.

True and you also see Batman's logo everywhere, but at the same time you also see Iron Man's merchandise as well as Cpt. America (not much hulk other than the title or a pic of his face) and as far as Thor, he wasn't advertised that much til now of course.

So all in all, (and I say this in a neutral meaning) Thor (even though I hate him) Cpt. America, Iron Man, and Hulk are all more commonly known and recognized than Batman and Superman. However, at the same time, results for Batman specifically went up once Tim Burton got his hands on the project to make the first 2 films and once Nolan got his hands on the reboot things started looking up for Batman clearly. Superman has been hacked too death (Superman Returns was clearly a disaster) and not very many people are looking forward to Zack Snyder's version because Superman Returns bombed so badly even though Zack Snyder hasn't let us down on any of his films yet. So you see where I'm coming from?

yeah I can see currently now Marvel is beating up DC movie franchise wise and probably in Action Figures to.But I think Batman movies(C. Nolan) > Any marvel movies over the past decade.I hope the Snyder does a good job I think he can actually show the physical Superman that brutally beats up his enemies.

Well of course Nolan's Batman beats out most Marvel films in the past decade, Nolan's Batman is dark, intense, emotional and creepy, where as films such as Iron Man 1 and 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor and Cpt. America will be just a good action movie with great casting. Nolan wants it to be more than just action, he wants people to get into the film which, in my opinion, he's succeeded because if any nerd will be there opening day in a Batman suit...that'll be me.

I honestly didn't know who Cpt. America was when I was a kid because I was more interested in Batman and if I had to list my favorite superhero (even though he technically doesn't count as a superhero) is Batman and he has the best villians, Iron Man and Hulk came in a close 2nd and 3rd.

Well that doesn't make any sense, Batman (in my opinion) is way cooler than Spiderman, and now that Nolan has tackled Batman how in the hell can Spiderman beat Batman? That's an outrage. Which website did you use to find this info because that sounds fishy. Reason why I say that because for America (not counting the other countries) superheroes/heroes that represent America like Cpt. America, Superman, Thor (sort of) and Iron Man all beat out the other ones because people like superheroes/heroes that are full of partriotism so the Superman thing doesn't surprise me but going so far as to say it beats out every other superhero is kind of pushing it.
