Fanboy Fix: New ‘Captain America’ Pics, ‘The Avengers,' Plus New Batman Script Will Blow Your Mind

New Captain America Pics

Ahead of its first trailer due out this Sunday during the Super Bowl, a few more images from Captain America: The First Avenger have appeared online. The images come to us courtesy of Empire, and they feature Chris Evans in a variety of heroic poses. We also get a nice look at Hayley Atwell with a gun, as well as Evans (and his bulging muscles) putting the scare in the character Heinz Kruger (no relation to Heinz ketchup).

Check out two images in this post and the rest over here.

Samuel L. Jackson Talks The Avengers, Plus More Cameos

While on the Jimmy Fallon show last night, Samuel L. Jackson spilled the beans by admitting that he’s filming cameos on both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. He has no idea whether his cameo will appear in the after-credits sequence of each film, but he does know that he’ll be asking both characters to join The Avengers.

He also said that he’s about to begin screen testing with actresses for an as-yet-unknown role that he describes as his assistant who follows him around the whole film. THR followed that up by producing a list of actresses who they’ll be looking at – including V star Morena Baccari, Jessica Lucas, Cobie Smulders and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the latter of whom starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. They claim Marvel is looking to lock a lady up for a 9-picture deal, so we expect this role is a little more important than just some random secretary.

The Dark Knight Rises DP Says Script “Will Blow Your Mind”

Speaking to the Kevin and Josh Movie Show recently (via First Showing), The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer Wally Pfister had this to say about the script for what has to be every geek’s most anticipated film of 2012.

"I asked the same question. I read the script two weeks ago, and he's done it. Plain and simple -- he's done it. It's a phenomenal script. He's still in the process of cutting it back because it's a very long script right now, but it's really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' again. When I watched those I had read the script for 'The Dark Knight Rises' and was like, 'Dude, it is a perfect trilogy.' I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures -- and they are very different pictures. And it's funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better."

He added, "Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We're going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we're really going for it this time. In terms of the action, we are all scratching our heads right now trying to figure out how we're going to do it, how we're going to do it in the amount of time we're going to do it in. The opening scene of the movie will blow your mind."

Tell me that doesn’t get you excited …

The 1st thing they need to do if fix the way Batmans mask looks. The opening arond the mouth is way too small and the expression cast around the eyes is just plain lame. The cowl from the Keaton batman mask is 1000% better. Looks meaner, more intense and looks right. It has a scowl built in and it makes him look pissed off and ready to beat you down. Oh, and take Christian Bale to speach lessons to get rid of that damn weird lispy crooked mouth thing he has going on.. very distracting.

Green Lantern will be crap, because Reynolds has no acting range. I am a big Captain America fan, but Evans is a bad actor too, so no go there. I agree that Nolan is a great director, and that he has made Batman the dark and gritty character that he needs to be. Bale was a great choice for the cape and cowl, but I think this should be the last. Hathaway and Hardy are good choices for addons for this newest flick, and as long as the conversation stays cerebral, and the action raw, I think it will win out. Obviously people will see it anyway. I think that Bane isn't the best choice to advance the storyline, but he is a much more believable and workable character. He also represents a genuine threat to Batman's life.

I can't wait to see them all. The more the merrier! Batman, Avengers, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. The only one I don't have excitement about is Green Lantern. To me, that movie looks too CGI! I want to see more of the actors and less of the computer animation.

OMGOSH THIS HAS GOTTEN ME SUPER EXCITED ABOUT TDKR!! GAH! Why 2012??? :/... But yeah, I'm ready for Superman too. Ever since Smallville, I've gotten more interested in Superman. Before I used to care nothing for him. But now... I want to see what Nolan does with Superman, because he's doing Batman right! Batman is and has always been my favorite Superhero of all time, and I'm a DC guy obviously. Seeing a Justice League of America movie would be amazing, with Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman (of which they need to make a movie), and others. I don't care if they make movies of them all or not, just the main three as stated above. Let Chris Nolan direct the JLA movie, and I'll be blown away. That's what needs to happen.

Nolan isn't doing Superman. Snyder is. Nolan had signed on to produce Superman, but then as soon as DKR started production, Nolan announced he was going to dedicate all his time to DKR and leave Superman for the others.

I love Christopher Nolan's Non-Batman projects (Memento, The Prestige, Inception) more than I do his Batman Projects. I was dissappointed with the fight scenes in the first movie, and the gorgeous cinematography and Ledger performance of the second film masked a lot of the plot holes of that second film's script. Both movies had miscast female leads. Casting Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a step in the right direct so with that said I will of course support Nolan's 3rd Batman film with my opening day dollars. Nolan continues to grow as a director, and I have faith his third Batman film will be better than both previous films in everyway.

Eh, i don't trust it. I highly doubt a movie by the same guy can top The Dark Knight. Sure he's really amazing at making movies but to top Dark Knight seems pretty impossible. Not to say Batman 3 is going to be bad just not better than Dark Knight.

I understand what you are saying, but you have to have faith in Nolan. If the man could pull off a movie like "Inception" he can probably do anything. If Nolan says "The Dark Knight Rises," has the potential to outshine its predecessor, than in Christopher Nolan I trust.
