I never understood the need for a reboot of a good franchise. After watching it, I'm glad they did. I was very impressed w/ Garfield & of course Stone rocked it. Better acted, more emotional depth than the previous 3, and better story. Definitely worth seeing in the theater.

After seeing the last 3 in the Spiderman series, I was disappointed that this new version didn't just take off where the others left off. But, if you haven't seen the others you get to go through the whole story from the beginning again and with a different twist. I didn't mind that it had a new leading man, but very disappointed that they couldn't have just incorporated what happened to his father and Dr. Connors as history that he just found out about - without reliving how he became spiderman and his Uncle story AGAIN.

I have seen just about all the marvel comic character movies and really liked them all.
I had no expectations coming in to this movie, but was sincerely impressed.
This movie has been re-cast, rethought , and reworked in a most intelligent way. I believe there is a good foundation for sequels to this one. If you watch carefully, there is a cameo by comic book character creator, Stan Lee, in everyone of these movies. I have to say,Stan's cameo in THIS movie is the funniest one yet. And even though the movie has some seriously funny moments, the over all tone is great science fiction, great special effects, great character development. Much like the avangers, this summer is bringing us some really great experiences at the movies.

To be totally honest I went into this movie not expecting much, I mean really! A reboot so soon after Sam Raimi's 2 great movies and 1 so-so...but I am a huge Marvel Fan so I have to go support the films. I came away very, very pleasently surprised. First of all, I feel it was more true to the comics with the web shooters Peter invents and Gwen Stacy as the first love interest. Andrew Garfield nailed it as Peter Parker, then Spiderman. Emma Stone is awesome and beautiful as Gwen, Rhys Ifans pulled off Dr. Curt Connors/Lizard very well. Martin Sheen and Sally Field were excellent as Ben and May. The story was well conceived, no slow points, it moved you along the whole time. The Lizard could've been cheesy, but I feel they pulled it off nicely as the man/lizard genetic splice. It was gritty, emotional, and funny were it was needed. I enjoyed that they didn't try resolve everything in one movie. I dare to say that I felt like this one was a bit better than Toby's spidey, there I said it.

In a summer that seems to be studded with blockbuster, comic book based movies, this new version of Spider-Man stands out. It was deffinitely an improvement on the original trilogy Spider-Man installments. It added a whole new aspect to the film legacy and created an even better super hero. The plot was good and really developed Peter Parker as a character, and I think most all of the cast did a fantastic job in adding to the story. It also deffinitely fills its role as an action packed summer blockbuster, and yet does this without taking away from the plot or Peter Parker's progression into his role as Spider-Man. All in all a fantastic summer film that does not disappoint!
