    Cute, but predictable

The movie reminded me of an Indiana Jones movie so I enjoyed it from that perspective. The story was a bit too predictable for my liking. Snowy was definitely the star of the show. I must say it was a waste of money paying extra to see it in 3D as it would have been just as good in regular 2D.

    Great story - great animation

    by miet

As a life long fan of Tintin and his amazingly well researched and drawn adventures i was full of expectation. My three sons ages 10, 15 and 18 like wise. We all loved it!

    The Advnetures of Tintin

Enjoyed the movie. The CG was, in my opinion, not up to standard. All the characters looked like wax museam figures. Overall, on a scale of 1-10 I would rate this one a 6.

    Tintin 3D

This is a great movie! Based on the opening box office take, I prepared myself for disappointment. However the screenplay, action sequences, drama and SFX were all first rate. The adaptation of Herge's art and dialogue are both sensitive and fresh - just right for a movie. I have read all the books to my kids, so I guess I was predisposed to enjoy this production. I went and saw it even though the trailers did not impress me - they seemed a bit trite. To my surprise and delight, the movie demonstrated a richness and complexity of feeling and tone that made my heart sing. Combined with brilliant animation that brought Herge's spare graphic style to cinematic life, and Andy Serkis's absolultely brilliant performance, this is a movie that should not be missed. If you like wonderful movies, see Tintin while it's still in theatres, and see it in 3d!!

It was okay, not great as expected.

It was so-so movie for me. It was not boring, but at the same time, it wasn't very entertaining. May be kids will like it more, not sure. But for me, other than couple of fight scenes and ocean scenes, nothing else was impressive. If they release next Tintin movie, I am not so sure I would see the movie in the theater.

The Animation is in its own league

I absolutely thought that this movie was brilliant. I have never seen an animated film with of this type. I can't wait to see the sequel.

    Awaken the Inner Child!

    by

What else would you expect from two of the greatest Big Kid storytellers of all time? Jackson and Spielburg have (of course) brought us an awesome romp, a kids' best idea of adventure, gorgeous visuals, clever humor (pay attention to what's going on in the background), a dog smarter than Lassie, a redhaired hero anyone can identify with, and some terrific supporting characters (Andy Serkis, the wizard of MoCap, returns here!). Based on a classic Belgian comic book of the early 20th century, the film translates the original's visual style into the 21st century. CG crates a world just a bit beyond normal mundane reality, a world of imagination, where perils and obstacles can be overcome (with some humor) by a plucky hero. Not really for little kids, it should excite anyone of middle reader age or older. And you'd have to be a Grinch to fault it ... this is a pure, elemental romp, an archetypal adventure the way they used to be.

One of the best animated movie I've seen in a long time

I remember being read the Tin Tin comic script when I was very young. I liked to homage to the old comic strip. Took my whole family to see it day after Christmas. Story line was great. I can see now where Spielberg growing up with Tin Tin was the inspiration for the Indiana Jones movies. The 3D was as good as Avatar or Panda 3D. Not over powering, but gave a rich field of depth. This is one of the movies I wouldn't mind having at home in 3D. sigh, my TV is not up to it...

Tintin marred by poor projection at UA Court St Stadium 12

Film: outstanding, unbelievable animation. Very "Spielberg" and adventure oriented, after a slow start. No "uncanny valley" in the mocap animation, well done. Theater: AWFUL. Movie began in 2D and played for several minutes, then it popped into "3D" but the images were out of phase or something, and we saw a rolling interference pattern through the glasses. Utterly unwatchable. The audience howled. Then something was reset, and we were forced to sit through PREVIEWS again, and the film started once more, this time in 3D... but there was some sort of problem, because it seemed to keep dropping back into 2D. I could take the glasses off and see the image with no problem. When the 3D was working it was clearly a double image. Perhaps one of the projectors or lenses was cutting out intermittently. Bottom line: good movie ruined by AWFUL projection at Court Street Stadium 12 in Brooklyn.

    Real life animation in 3D

The main older character is a spittin' image of Steven Speilberg! He finally got a chance to act!! Great resemblance of him!! The technology creating the real life characters is fantastic! It was a cute suspense filled story. Will definitely go see the sequel. Great family film.

    Adventures of Tin Tin

Wow, and fantastic. Want to see it again. Reluctant about 3D, but that's the way to see it. Not much of a movie goier, but so gllad I picked this one to take myself and a friend for a Christmas present.

    Was ok

The animation is pretty incredible, but the storyline is just ok. If you want to see a much better movie that is in this "genre", go see Hugo. Much more interesting story there.

    Tintin a WinWin!

My 10-year-old daughter and I saw it last night and she told others today that it was great. She was engaged the whole time, and we went to a rather late showing. The story was good enough to be pretty entertaining for adults as well. We would see it again.
