they totally messed up leaterface. he does not wear a sweater and dang tie the mask was rediculous n he does no wear makeup what the heck is that, n certainly does not miss when he kills. runs all rediculous and his mask is the worst ive ever seen. i am a huge texas chainsaw massacre fan and this movie insulted me everything was WRONG! if you are going to remake a movie do it right. i even liked the past remakes but this one was just awful. the only thing that was good is the 3D was cool. DONT GO SEE IT! I walked out its def. not worth the $

I wasn't expecting much going into the film, but the prologue was quite striking with it's 3D transfer of highlights from the 1974 original (sometimes I thought I was looking at original footage, sometimes modern reenactments--I wasn't really sure). There's an hour of pretty gory, lifeless storytelling about four people travelling to Newt, Texas to reclaim the legacy of the heroine, but the last hour is the stuff of cult movie legend. Some opportunities for spectacular 3D effects are missed, but overall, the 3D is pretty good and worth the extra cash. Overall, it's an inconsistent film of highs and lows: at it's worst, it's mind-numbingly dull; at it's best it's very everything you want from a horror film.

I really enjoyed this movie. I say that not only as a horror movie fan, but one that especially loves the 'Texas Chainsaw' film series starting with the first 1974 film. This one picks up after the original one and I was engrossed in the film the whole way through. There is tons of gore, the acting is well done, and I felt very attached to the main character played by Alexandria Daddario (which usually means that the acting is very good and the plot has substance) This wasn't just a gory slasher film, it actually went into the history behind the Sawyer family a little more and that was something I was missing and yearning foir in the last couple films. Will be buying this one for sure when it comes out, highly recommended you see it in theaters for the awesome 'in your face' 3D effects!

3D sequel to Texas Chainsaw (the 1974 original) is a little slow to get going but surprisingly fun once it does. The movie comes up with a fairly novel way to continue the story, has some decent gore and, most surprisingly, comes up with some good villains who aren't Leatherface. (Leatherface in this go round is as homicidal as ever but he's portrayed as a perpetually angry, mentally retarded 8 year old in a 6 foot 5 body, so he's slightly more sympathetic than in previous incarnations). This definitely isn't a classic but it's a respectable sequel to the Tobe Hooper original and easily the best movie in the franchise since part 2.
