Even Better on the BIG SCREEN!!!

Reservoir Dogs is one of those films that most folks (included myself) didn't have the opportunity to watch on the big screen. Although, I've watched this film million times on DVD. The big screen experience blow that away!

    Great!

    by

I've always been a fan of Tarantino and I thought this would a great chance to see one of earlier movies on the big screen! I had never seen the movie before. It was awesome to see the old trailers and just cool info about how he got started in this industry before the movie started. I really felt like I got to glimpse into the past. Very well done!

    Best Movie Experience

Watching Reservoir Dogs in theaters was like finally having sex with your wife on your wedding day. All these things you liked about her are enhanced and amplified by passion and nostalgia. You notice things about her that she probably doesn't even know. You are now one and you will be thinking about this experience for days after the climax.

I just hope the mistress, Pulp Fiction, is just as good in bed as my first love.

The best dish at the best restaurant, but it was served on a garbage can lid.

I've seen Dogs literally 100 times. It's, in my opinion, one of the top 20 best films ever made. So no question you should watch it, if it's your cup of tea. It was an amazing experience, seeing the trailers for all of Quentin's films, then the three classic trailers that he hand picked for the show. The film looked great on the big screen! I've gone to see a lot of these special events. And a lot of them suffer from theaters putting them in, for last nights case, theater 14. This place has 14 screens, 1 being the best. They turned the lights down to about half when the movie started, I hate that. And it suffered from what I like to call, the "turn up the TV!" syndrome, I have my TV much louder than they had it, when I watch any film. And then, a little less than half way through the film, they turn the lights up, almost all the way! And it sounded like the blitz was happening outside of our theater. You could hear the sonic booms from the nextdoor film. Awesome show, bad presentation.

    When does the movie start?

Enjoyed the movie. Had already seen it. It's Tarantino. You've already made up your mind by now.

However, I am rating the "event". Fathom is really proud of themselves for putting this on. From the time when the movie was supposed to start at 7:00 PM, they showed 30 minutes of advertising telling us how cool they are. Some of it repeated. Mind numbing. Then there was another 30 minutes of Tarantino trivia, and trailers for all of his movies, and ads to buy his 95 disc, bluray, special amazing edition of all of his movies in one box set. We've seen all of these movies, we don't need to see the trailers again. That is what Youtube is for. Finally the movie started an hour after of waiting. Will I go to another one of these events knowing all of this? Maybe. But, thanks to assigned seating, I have no motivation to show up on time.

    Still Powerful at 20

One night only event so I feel mean giving it a 'Must Go!' rating--you can't go. It was last night.

I had only seen this movie on the small screen so it was a wonderful experience seeing it in a theater with an audience. The violence has a greater impact, the storytelling holds up even if you have seen the film before. This might be my favorite Tarantino movie, although not my favorite of his scripts (that would be True Romance).

There is nothing to say about the movie that has not already been said. The coming attractions that played before the movie were very fun. I could have done without the short feature filled with talking heads all praising QT but, other than that, a very good night at the movies.

    Rare Oppourtunity

    by

It was really great to see this movie in a Theater. It is one of my all time favorites, and a timeless Classic. I was a little bored when they decided to run a 15 Minute Segment about the Making of the film, but I was stoked when they aired some select Previews from the 70's that Quentin Tarantino personally selected to be aired before this.

Great movie and trailers, interviews less so

Was extremely happy to finally see "Reservoir Dogs" on the biog screen, and loved Q's choice of trailers. However, the interviews were mostly with people no one cares about. Would have loved to have heard from Quentin or some of the stars of the movie -- even Eddie Bunker, if he's still alive. Behind-the-scenes people are nice, but I wanted to hear from Keitel, Buscemi, Roth and Madsen. Or even some of the people who didn;t get roles in the movie, like Christopher Walken and James Woods. Hoping the "Pulp Fiction" interviews are better.

    Very Good Presentation!

    by

Very good movie. This is Quentin Tarantino's directorial debut. This movie was a good look into the mind set of how Tarantino thinks. There are no other movies quite like this. While this movie is filled with blood, guts, & violence, Tarantino does an excellent job of developing the characters to the point that the plot shines and make the blood, guts, & violence bearable. Very good directorial debut. It was well worth bringing this back to the big screen.

    Great, geat, great, great!!!

Had a great time watching Reservoir Dogs' re-release at a good theator. Such a classic, and the interviews and short documentary about the film's original beginnings were great. Definitely a must-experience for Tarantino fans.

    A Bloody Mess

What an EXCELLENT DEBUT for a great director. The story line was great. The flashbacks to previous events were well done. The ACTING was superb, especially by HARVEY KEITEL and MICHAEL BUSCEMI (Spelling?). This movie is NOT for children. If you do not like GUN SHOT WOUNDS, BLOOD and SWEARING (Mucho F bombs)?, do not go. FINAL WORD: In most cases, CRIME DOES NOT PAY. You will either wind up dead or in prison.

    Reservoir Dogs 20th Anniversary

Seeing Reservoir Dogs on the big screen for the first time was amazing. Everything great about the film was even bigger and better when larger than life. Flip side: the problems with the film are also accentuated. Like those first 15 mins of dialogue in the warehouse between Keitel and Buscemi -- so painful! Have never been sure if it's realism gone wrong or the god-awful mic-ing in that space, or both. Fortunately, in a moment of inspired planning - or editing suite brilliance - the movie already started strong. The movie really takes off when the camera pulls back to reveal Michael Madsen. Oh Mr. Blonde! As opposed to villains we love to hate -- he's the one we hate to love. The coolest cat in crazy torture town. Everyone else is great as well, though overdone at times. Especially Tim Roth, who has broadest range to play. Non-linear story telling genius! Saw it with someone who didn't know what he was getting into, and didn't love it. But for QT and film fans, its a must.
