For decades, housing in Hungary has been difficult to come by. In this thriller, a young couple make a pact with a sickly older woman to take over her lovely house when she dies and to take care of her in the meantime. While they passively (and ghoulishly) wait for her to die, she becomes increasingly paranoid about the possibility that they will kill her for the house, and she ceases to eat anything they have prepared for her. Eventually, goaded beyond their endurance, they do try to kill her, and for a little while it looks as though they may get away with it, until her corpse goes missing. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
