  Not a bad movie, but I thought it was a bit plodding at times. The end was by far the best part of the movie. My date liked it better than me.

  excellant movie. molly did a great job with her character. movie was cute and sweet and worth all the money. never got bored while watching it. very entertaining

  Overall, an enjoyable movie. Don't go into the theater expecting high drama movie of the year quality. Sit back and laugh at the funny parts. Kevin Costner did a great job as the smelly,unshaven, and uneducated man who would cast that one vote to determine the fate of the USA and the girl who played his daughter carried her role off as well if not better. The story line made sense right up to the ending----something that cannot be said about every movie I have seen recently!

  SWING VOITE

  Mostly a "one joke" movie (i.e. Kevin Coster screws up casting his ballot so he has to re-cast it & it turns out that his vote would be the deciding vote that determines the County winner which determines the State winner which throws the 5-Electoral votes to one of the two candidates thus deciding the next US President)
  
  However, it brings to light how politicians say whatever their audience wants to hear...which is good to show....and that voting COULD matter.
  
  It's a real enjoyable show with great characters, nice shots of rural New Mexico & fun dialogue & characters.
  
  Really worth going out of your way to see!

  Excellent movie

  I went to see this with no expectations, but was very pleasantly entertained for 2 hours. It really was one of the best movies I've seen in quite a while. I have to admit, I am a father with a daughter about the same age as the girl in the movie, (no I'm not a drunken loser) but I can see it working for a lot of folks. The swing vote ending was perfect, and the father-daughter relationship was very well progressed.
  
  After seeing it I read some of the pro critic opinions, and I disagree with most of them. Sit back, let yourself go, and enjoy.

  Bout time for a good movie for a change!

  Excellent movie. One that makes you think after you have left the theatre all the way home. Kevin Costner's story-telling style of movie making is awesome. He definitely has not lost his talent. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  
  They tried to be impartial, but the "Hollywood left" tone still showed towards the end of the movie. Oh well!

  Kevin Costner is hilarious!

  I loved Swing Vote because it made me laugh a lot and that's what I look for in a movie. It also has a happy ending. I don't agree with many other viewers who say they don't like the ending. Think about what has happened to the characters "Bud" and his daughter "Molly" and it is a positive ending. It's not a serious political movie, but it does produce great laughs and later on emotion. All the actors were excellent, especially Molly, Kevin, and Kesey Grammer, and the "news woman". She was very good too. It's an unrealistic story, but so is Spiderman. For shear entertainment I say it's a must go.

  Unsure of what to expect, my husband and daughters ages 10 & 11 and I all went to see Swing Vote. We all really enjoyed it. Not too happy about the ending, which leaves your imagination to do some work. But, in all it was an enjoyable movie.

  Fun movie

  Ok, so if you are going and expecting a serious political comedy/drama, wrong movie. I thought it was gonna be a stupid comedy that took politics seriously. I was wrong. Although its based around politics, and certainly pokes fun at both parties changing their minds just to appease voters(or in this case, one voter), it actually was more of a drama with comedic moments, about how we as a society don't take voting as seriously as we should, and how stupid we look because of it. I thought the girl who played his daughter was outstanding. I think in many ways Kevin Costner did a great job in letting her really be the star of this movie. I know in the theater I watched it in, most people laughed at the funny moments, and fell into the story that was being told as well. Obviously not many people agree with me, and although it wasnt the movie of the year, it was well worth watching for me and my girlfriend.

  If you want to waste two hours of your life, this movie is perfect for you.

  This movie was more boring then watching c-span. If you don't want to no the ending then dont read the rest of this. In the end, it doesn't even show who he picked. I waited two hours just to see who he would choose and at the end i wanted to have an anal prolapse. This was ridiculous.

  Thought this was one of the best movies seen in a long time. EVERYONE must see this before election time. It is sooooooo good, and unfortunately tooooo true. Politicians speak out of both sides of their mouths, and we are all little sheep, being led to slaughter. I really wonder who Kevin voted for? In my book...THIS IS A MUST SEE!

  Not nearly as crummy as the reviews have made it out to be

  So many people had slammed this movie, I nearly didn't go see it. But I'm glad I did. It was a lot more of a character study about the main character (Costner) than a movie about politics. I thought the story was obviously completely far-fetched, but the journey the main character took captured my interest and intrigued me. I don't usually like movies with precocious kids in them either (such an overdone ploy), but this young actress was really good in her role.
  
  I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting, so if you're bored and looking for a decent matinee-price movie, this may be the ticket for you.

  Better than what I expected...

  Pretty decent movie, actually. I went into this one without a lot of expectations, and came away being pleasantly surprised.
  
  A bit uneven at times, a little over the top in places, and sometimes seeming to want to go in too many directions at once - but the contexts and undercurrents are excellent, and some of the political ads are laugh-out-loud funny. And coming from someone who works in the media, the media circus atmosphere was very true to life.
  
  Costner's "lovable loser" character (who's ignorant of both the candidates and the issues) is a sadly accurate portrayal of the mindset of many American voters these days, and the movie itself is also a sad commentary on how the political messages in recent elections seem to be dumbed-down in order to play to this least common denominator. Madeline Carroll's performance as Costner's character's 12-year old precocious daughter is Oscar-worthy.
  
  Not a "great" movie, but definitely worth a look-see.
