A television crew shooting on remote Mayaman Island in the Philippines discovers that a local legend has roots in reality when a mythical creature called the Aswang descends from the trees and begins stalking them through the jungle. The Aswang is a shape-shifting creature that craves human flesh, and feeds on the blood of pregnant women. Upon arriving on the island, the jovial crew begins shooting a jungle survival special hosted by Sebastian "Seb" Beazley (Billy Zane), though the laid-back atmosphere soon gives way to sheer terror when the Aswang arrives to feed on the naïve newcomers.
