    Excellent

Took my son and three of his friends for his tenth birthday. All four (plus myself) gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up. The documentary style shooting kept the animated animal genre fresher than many of the recent animated releases. The jokes were plentiful (some lewd, but right in line with the 9-10 year old sensibility), the voice actors were spot on with their characters, and the surfing scenes were rather breathtaking for an animated film. It made me want to go out and learn to surf, just listening to Geek talk about the zen of being in the wave. Definitely a great way to spend time with the family and friends!

    Worth a trip

    by Gail b1

Took my 2 boys (7 and 10) and a very good friend my mom's age and we all had a great laugh-out-loud time. Thankfully, no political penguins like Happy Feet!

    LOL FUNNY, A MUST GO!!!!!!

This movie I thought would be similar to happy feet, I am not sure why, but I was wrong! It was 10x better than Happy Feet! It has a good moral, great story overall, and very funny. Also had great animation. Lol funny for all ages! You'll have a blast!!!!!!!

    Surf's up

This is the best one yet! We laughed out loud and it was fast-paced enough for the one year old. Great show for the kids.

If you love movies, you'll love this.

When I walked into Surf's Up my expectations were low. Especially being a surfer from California. Walking out of the theater I was excited beyond belief. I haven't had that good of a time in an animated feature since The Incredibles. The characters were real the animation is spectacular and the story presentation is completely fresh for animation (documentary style). I can even forgive them for casting Shia LeBouf as the main character, Cody Maverick. The other voice actors were wonderful and you could tell that that were in the same studio together, it sounded like they were having fun with it, which was completely contagious. As for the surfing - that was something else - they had animators working around the clock on the water alone, and it really shows! The surfing looked and felt authentic, which was a concern of mine. Also having pro surfers for characters lent to the authenticity and feel of the movie. What more can I say, if you love movies see this movie!

    Surf's Up

Went to see this with our 2 boys who are 6 and 9. We loved it and so did the boys. We all left wanting to learn how to surf.

    Good, but...

Surf's Up was cute, a little too much talk for the kids I think. They did enjoy it though. There were a few references to sex, which the kids didn't get, but I did. I felt that it was completely unneccessary. There was another scene where one of the characters urinated on another. Just don't understand why they felt it necessary to put this in the movie.

    Surf's Up

Cleverly presented, (documentary-animation style), warm-hearted, funny family feel-good movie! Cody captures your heart (be you child or adult), as you follow him onto the tail-of-a whale and through the "Bones" graveyard. By the end of this well-developed movie - you're ready to go catch some waves! Just for the sheer fun of it of course! My 8 and 5-year-old boys Loved it, and so did I.

    Great Surfer Movie

I loved the movie. It wasn't too over the top and I enjoyed the way it was filmed as a reality tv show. I would see it again. Very funny and cute moments. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. I will buy it.

    Surf's up

I took my 3 and 5 year old boys and did not appreciate some of the adult content such as "I can feel it in my nuggets!!?" expressed by a male character. Too much for my children, at least.... I know the children don't understand it , but I don't want them repeating it either!!

    surf's flat

Too old for my kids, 6 and under. Moral of the story went right over their heads. Language a little racey and humor a litttle crude for hard core conservatives like us. Over all it was a slow start to a decent movie for pre-teens.

Surf's Up - Good for the whole family!

It is sometimes hard for me to take both of my children to the movies because of a 6 year age diffrence. One teenager and one smaller child. Surf's up was enjoyable for us all. A good message and humour for all ages. I recommend this movie for a fun family movie.
