    Refined, Euphoric,.....Excellent

Probably one of the best space scifi's ever made. Combines the best of today's high-tech cinematography with the experiance of past space-delemma efforts. Some will sy it's too close to Event Horizon, Contact, Mission to Mars, Red Planet, etc, but this movie gets it right. It takes from all those and combines them in a more surreal experiance. Even though the plot is a tad cliche' with the Event-Horizon like insane-space-sabatuer sobataging the mission, it's still a very enveloping story. What make sit stand out is its great variation of characters and, of course, the whole sunshine/light/warmth vs cold/dark space duet through the entire film. You've got your iconic heat shield and space suits that will give this movie some immortality, and don't forget the hot asain chic, which every good movie should always have. Only really needed improvment would have been to remove all the god referencing. Religion in general tends to just ruin everything anyway.

trying to copy 2001 a space odessey does not work

it was sometimes difficult to follow. it was a conglomeration of other space odyssey films, but was not a good. to many artsy critics, they will love the look and feel of the film. don't pay full price, use a bargain matinée.

too beautiful & intense to pass up

try not to blink because you won't want to miss a second of the gorgeous cinematography and special effects. danny boyle didn't skimp on good actors either - the relationships and connections between the characters are well developed and the tension is off the charts. the soundtrack for this sci-fi/horror movie is also amazing and fits the action & emotions perfectly. see it on the big screen NOW!

    Sunshine

I really liked the this movie. Reminds me of Solaris with a much different story line. The added character at the end I could have done without, actually thought it took away much of which Sunshine had wonderfully developed, with the characters, up until that point. It then became a typical horror movie.

A must for SCI FI fans

SUNSHINE is among the most visually arresting and stunning movies to come out in recent years. Boyle, true to his past efforts, establishes a mood of tension and doubt from the first scenes. Particularly strong were the lesser known and international members of the cast, although even better known actors such as Fantastic Four's Evans, put in excellent performances. While the film-as some reviewers noted-dips into a visual presentation in the last half hour that one could find difficult to watch I would still strongly recommend the picture. This movie is what 2001 could have been with better special effects. Any fan of the genre will enjoy it.
