'Fast & Furious 7' Chatter: What Do You Hope Happens in the Next Movie?

By: Sean OConnell on May 28, 2013 at 12:05PM Comments (4)
So Fast & Furious 6 roared through theaters this Memorial Day weekend, earning an estimated $120 million in its opening frame and trouncing the competition that was The Hangover Part III and Epic. In a three day period, Fast 6 outgrossed its immediate predecessor, the critically acclaimed Fast 5, proving that this franchise still has plenty of gas in the tank … literally and figuratively.

That’s good news, because Universal already has greenlit a seventh chapter in this series, and we have a few key details you might want to know. Obviously, this will get a little spoilery, so stop reading if you haven’t seen Furious 6 yet.

- The sequel, the as-yet-untitled Fast & Furious 7, will be in theaters on July 11, 2014.

- Universal has hired Insidious and Saw director James Wan to helm the new sequel. He replaces Justin Lin in the  director’s chair after Lin chose to leave, citing the tight production schedule on Fast 7

- The villain, if you stayed through the end credits of Fast 6, will be none other than Jason Statham (!!), who is playing the angered sibling of Owen Shaw … who was killed in this sequel.

- The Rock, meanwhile, might not be able to return due to his contractual obligation to shoot a Hercules movie for Brett Ratner. Johnson’s character, Hobbs, said his farewells to Dom (Vin Diesel) and the gang at the end of Fast 6. He may be back in future installments, but likely not in the next one.

Here’s where we turn the discussion over to you. We know that there is going to be a Fast 7, and there are rumors that it will take place in Tokyo and the Middle East. Now that you have seen Fast 6, where would you like to see the story go? What do you hope happens in Fast 7? Who should come back … and whom should be killed off? Share your thoughts below, and brace for the next Fast thriller – which is just over a year away!

even though I am probably one of the biggest fast & furious fans I know, I thought it was about time they tied them altogether finally. And fast 7 may I say is going to have me in hunk heaven! My bald sexy guy fetish will probably go into overload. Ha, ha. I cannot wait for our family movie marathon night! Luckily our wal-mart will be offering preorders on the fast 6 blue ray when it comes out.

Look, 4,5, & 6 were tying in story before Tokyo drift...if you watched after credits on Tokyo drift, Dom is in Tokyo about to race the new drift king. Han was being chased by the yakuza when his car flipped...who's to say that statham's character shaw isn't working with the yakuza just like the older brother was working with the Mexican cartel. Dom will probably enlist the drift king, whatever his name was, to get close to the yakuza and brother shaw.

They might as well bring back Lucas Black and Bow Wow into the mix to complete the entire cast.Seventies martial arts action star Sony Chiba played a Yakuza gangster also.A Yakuza and Middle Eastern operation thwarted by the Fast and Furious crew could be interesting. With Stathum and some Yakuza henchmen plus car chases and mayhem, perhaps involving gold and currency left buried in Middle East palace vacated by a former Dictator?

Let me take a while guess. At the beginning movie Fast & The Furious Tokyo Drift Han was killed in that movie when someone rammed into the back of his car. Now with the seventh installment I think they are going to tie all of this together when Owen Shaw brother goes after Dom. I think that Dom is going to come back to Tokyo after this guy because he killed one of his family members.
