Star Trek Into Darkness is by far my favorite film I've seen this year! I can't remember the last time I went to a movie with high expectations, and got what I wanted from a film. The only thing I would have like to have seen more of is deeper story development, this really is more of an action Star Trek. That said, it's still a great Star Trek film, and a great sci-fi action movie. I loved it!

Great action! Great story and I came away feeling as if I had more insight into the minds of the original crew! I will be seeing this again and again and...

I have been a Star Trek fan all my life.. This is by far one of the best Star Trek movies I have ever seen.. I laughed, cried, clapped and got really involved in watching the movie.. I have never saw a 3D movie with IMAX before! Seeing this movie like this is a must.. Pay the extra $!! You will not be disappointed!! Live Long and Prosper!!

I had prepped my friends before the movie. I wasn't sure but I encouraged them to see Wrath of Khan. Only one complied, so she alone laughed, cheered, and ooohed with the Trekkers and Trekkies in the audience. The others definitely enjoyed the movie, and we all agreed Benedict is one of the greatest actors of our time, but they were lost with the subtle nuances.
This leaves me torn. I love it when people get the inside jokes, but there is something pure about the new Star Trek fans that I don't want to taint. I don't agree that they have to see what we see, but it would be nice to geek out with EVERYONE. There is something for every viewer. Love watching the story unfold.
Definitely worth seeing. I've seen it in 3D and regular 35mm. My equilibrium is off so the 35mm is better for my head, but the action is so dynamic! I will see it again in theatres. Two favorite quotes: "Sulu, remind me never to piss you off." and "You should have let me SLEEP!"

I think anyone who enjoys a good summer action/fun movie will enjoy this...but Star Trek fans have got to see it as soon as possible. Won't spoil anything in the review but you will love the nods to the original series/movies and even twists on the familiar. There were scenes that literally brought tears to my eyes.
A little intense for the younger kids, plus they may not appreciate or understand the drama of some scenes. But a very enjoyable follow-up to the the 2009 series reboot.
Writers have done a great job with dialogue and plotting. No, it's not the most original plot, but I thought it did a great job of freshening it up and adding some modern concerns to the mix (terrorism, what you're willing to do for security, revenge/mercy, manipulation/mistrust).
3D did not seem to be intrusive, but don't sit too close to the screen on this one or you'll miss part of what's happening on other parts of the screen.
