we went to the sneak peek IMAX and 3D. It was great! Exciting. Fast paced and interesting. Good story line, still exploring the new friendship that is growing between Kirk and Spock and the others. Loved it!

Not original and NOT an homage

The story is a ripoff of a beloved classic, twisted, and infuriating to watch. The costumes, design, and especially the makeup is horrible. Many scenes and costumes are reminiscent of Star Wars. There is way too much Star Wars flavor to it. These guys got millions of dollars to make a movie and couldn't come up with anything original. Save your money.

Went to see a late-night early showing of Star Trek: Into The Darkness, and I have just 1 word and 1 number to describe it: AWESOME and 10! Yes, if you're a died-in-the wool Kirk & Spock fan (original series) you may have found this "alternate universe" version a little distasteful at first, but as this episode plays out, you'll see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Karl Urban respectively as Kirk, Spock, Uhura and Bones all appear to fill these new shoes in exquisite fashion. None of the glaring faux pas of the 1st alternate universe trek- no! Lots of great dialog, action sequences and plot. Chris and Zach literally became that undefeatable duo and brought it home! Looking forward to the next installment (TV Series Maybe???) But overall- nicely done, bravo!

Star Trek Into Darkness - I loved it!

Beautiful cinematography, great action, awesome acting...Star Trek Into Darkness, I can't wait to see you again. Fully worth every penny to see it in IMAX 3D (and I'm not a huge 3D fan either). Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect as the villian (Lord, help me - those eyes, those cheekbones and that beautiful voice!). Chris and Zach were perfectly solidified as Kirk and Spock in this one. LOVED the nod to the original series too (won't say anything else due to spoilers)! All I can say is go, go go,go GO! I will definitely be going again, and maybe again after that! Original trekkies may have issues with the "new" versions of the set and costumes but my daughter's generation is now well onboard to continuing the fandom of Star Trek into the forseeable future.

Into the Darknesss is a Lame Re-make of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

I saw Into Darkness last night in 3-D IMAX. Before I say the negatives , let me give a positive. This Movie made great use of the 3-D & IMAX formats. So you are going to this be sure to at least see it in 3-D. Next is the Action, which is good and a lot chase scenes. But there were too many and Spock show way too much emotion during them. It seems like they were trying to win the award for most Action scenes in a single movie. But the worst part of this movie is the script that is a Lame knock-off of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. They went so far to re-use almost line-per-line Star Trek II : Spock's Death scene but only reversing Spock's and Kirk's roles. The entire Theater Boo'd & Shouted at the Screen during this part of the movie. This entire plot knock-off was not Star Trek fans have come to expect. The success of Star Trek from the Classic episodes to the Movies has always been an unique plot not seen before in Star Trek History.
