We went to the Fan Sneak, and the camaraderie with fellow Trekies was awesome! One young man said, "This room is great! I've never been with so many people like me!" The anticipation was high, and we were not disappointed! I have finally accepted Zachary Quinto as Spock (although we do get to see Leonard Nimoy a couple of times), and his acting was superb (and the boy can run!). Sulu surfaced as a great character as well, as did Scotty. Bones deadpanned his typical, "I'm a doctor, man, not a (fill in the blank)." The special effects were astounding, and I have a new favorite scene when the Enterprise rises out of the ---- don't want to spoil it for you, so you'd better go see it this weekend!!

Four years and this is the best they could come up with ?
After all the promises of NEW, ORIGINAL stories? We're just going to get fed a diet of re-hashed old movies and TOS episodes?
BLEH, and shame on J.J. Adams and Co.
ALL YOU STAR WARS PEEPS ARE NEXT !!! hahahaha

Loved, loved, the movie! I think the reboot of bringing back Kahn who was a great villain and swapping the story line was genius! All of the characters made me laugh except of course the villain. Great character interaction and incorporation of how Carol Marcus and Kirk meant. Only weakness was too many ship breakdowns. Glad to see the saga continue!

I would love to drop an awesome quote from the original movies but doing so might spoil the fun for those going to see this film. The IMAX 3D was great! I usually skip 3D movies as they make me sick, but this one didn't.

Basically an alternate version of a previous Star Trek episode/movie. Those who paid attention to the many trailers can figure out who the villain really is. Some plot twists. Lots of action. Good pacing. Let's hope the next Star Trek movie will invent something completely new. Maybe a plot where an advance species of humpback whales travel to Earth to investigate why their species have gone extinct. Run into Spock's half-brother, Sybok, who has purchased an ancient earth probe called Voyager 6 that the Klingons auction off on eBay. The crew then travels back in time to San Francisco in the late 60's seeking Timothy Leary's advice. They succumbs to a bad batch of magic mushrooms and end up at the Haight-Asbury Free Clinic where Dr. McCoy runs into his great, great, great, grandfather. They recover. Attend a free rock concert in Golden Gate Park where Jefferson Airplane's lead singer, Grace Slick, catches a glimpse of the departing starship Enterprise and later renames the band.
