As we didn't need to be introduced to the characters, Spock and Kirk were able to come into their own and we got to experience more of the story. Plus Benedict Cumberbatch played an AWESOME villian!

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was what I was expecting and more. Fun, entertaining and exciting, well, I am a moderate fangirl. The 3D IMAX was totally worth it. There was lots of action and a terrific story. Spock and Uhura make a great couple.

This was definitely more action packed then the first and the characters/actors have gelled into a team. At first I wasn't a huge fan of the restart, but I'm enjoying how they are taking storylines from the original and seeing where they take them, but in the end they were destined to come together no matter what. The interplay was great and the writers definitely understood and incorporated the humor that was always found in the original series. Benedict plays a wonderful icy blue eyed villan, but is no contest to Chris Pine's baby blues. If you love/like Star Trek, you should just go and enjoy the ride!

If you are a Trekkie some of the characters and plot twists are going to be very familiar. The movie left you with the feeling you were back to the beginning.

I thought the first movie in the new timeline was a brilliant piece of work and this one is a very worthy follow up. Once again all of the actors pull off their roles brilliantly and do great homage to the original actors.
I'm still not quite comfortable with the idea of Spock and Uhura as a couple but that relationship ads some funny tension to the movie. The ending of the movie was well done and I felt brilliantly executed.
If Paramount had the budget to do a new TV show with this cast this movie ends in a brilliant setup for it.
Overall I think Abrams did a bang up job continuing to recreate a universe that similar but vastly different than the original.
One last bit... I am disappointed that they continued the use of the modified tag line, I was hoping with the reboot they would drop that PC nonsense but sadly it's not to be...
