Star Trek Into Darkness - I loved it!

Beautiful cinematography, great action, awesome acting...Star Trek Into Darkness, I can't wait to see you again. Fully worth every penny to see it in IMAX 3D (and I'm not a huge 3D fan either). Benedict Cumberbatch is perfect as the villian (Lord, help me - those eyes, those cheekbones and that beautiful voice!). Chris and Zach were perfectly solidified as Kirk and Spock in this one. LOVED the nod to the original series too (won't say anything else due to spoilers)! All I can say is go, go go,go GO! I will definitely be going again, and maybe again after that! Original trekkies may have issues with the "new" versions of the set and costumes but my daughter's generation is now well onboard to continuing the fandom of Star Trek into the forseeable future.

Into the Darknesss is a Lame Re-make of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

I saw Into Darkness last night in 3-D IMAX. Before I say the negatives , let me give a positive. This Movie made great use of the 3-D & IMAX formats. So you are going to this be sure to at least see it in 3-D. Next is the Action, which is good and a lot chase scenes. But there were too many and Spock show way too much emotion during them. It seems like they were trying to win the award for most Action scenes in a single movie. But the worst part of this movie is the script that is a Lame knock-off of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. They went so far to re-use almost line-per-line Star Trek II : Spock's Death scene but only reversing Spock's and Kirk's roles. The entire Theater Boo'd & Shouted at the Screen during this part of the movie. This entire plot knock-off was not Star Trek fans have come to expect. The success of Star Trek from the Classic episodes to the Movies has always been an unique plot not seen before in Star Trek History.

I'll keep this quick and spoiler free: I grew up on Star Trek. I know many trekkies who refer to ST09 saying "that's not my Star Trek." These are the people who can't separate the reboot from the original series, and would prefer an 85 year old Shatner to hobble around the screen. If you find yourself in that category, then this film is probably not for you. If you enjoyed the 09 reboot, like Star Trek, or movies in general, then you will probably like this movie. It's funny, action-packed, suspenseful, and moving. It is well worth seeing in theaters, and especially in 3D (I usually don't enjoy 3D movies). It was immensely enjoyable, and I will be seeing it a 2nd time at the very least...
