I went with someone who isn't particularly interested in Star Trek, and not a general fan of Science Fiction. She had a blast. She said she didn't realize how much personal drama and humor this film was going to showcase. I agree. On a scale from 1-10, I give it an 8. Fantastic action scenes, memorable dialog, plot twists that were surprising and furthered the story, and joyful humor.

Just came back from seeing this movie, and i was impressed. It was funny, suspenseful, and if you've seen the Star Trek movies from the 80s, especially "Star Trek II", you'll get the essence of the plot easily. The acting was great, the special effects were what i'd hoped they would be, and the movie was just like i like movies: not too long and not too short(just about 2 hours). I hope(and i'm pretty sure) they make another one in the next 2-3 years. I highly recommend this movie, and i usually don't recommend sequels.

They have definitely captured the old chemistry with the new actors, and they just seem to be getting more and more comfortable with the roles. Plenty of action and excitement, but it's definitely the characters that make this a Must Go!

I thought the movie was pretty good, but not better than the first one. At times the story line slows down a bit, but it keeps you interested enough to not feel like an actual 2hr movie. All in all, it was a good movie.

Warning : Spoilers
I had heard very good things about the new Star Trek movie, but I mostly remember an above 90s ration on Rottentomato.com. And the visual effects and action were great. However, the story left both my 16 year old son and me unimpressed. I am a long, long time Star Trek fan, so when it became obvious that this movie was a re-telling of an original Star Trek episode plus the second Star Trek movie, I was sorely disappointed. The first movie's story was so original, so to see Star Trek II scenes replayed with minor changes...meh. Oh, and that last scene where Khan picks p a trench coat and runs a la Sherlock Holmes, just seemed like an add for the UK series Sherlock.
Also, the screenwriters seemed to be trying too hard to have cutesy dialog,
