STID Should Be A Personal Experience ... So Look At Ratings But Be Careful Reading The Body

Unless you are reading mine ... you need to not be tainted by amateur reviews (like mine) and ranting, ravings, pontifications of a bunch of know it alls ... it is a fun filled movie! The action is amazing. It is visually stimulating (if you can -- IMAX is a must). And the story line is one that should provoke a giddy "YES" for the newbie non-hardcore Trekker as well as an awe induced coma for the people like Sheldon on BBT. The character relationships ... they NAILED it. DeForest Kelley is giving Urban a big thumbs up from the great beyond. Shatner and Nimoy should leave the theater with a big, proud smile too. They all should. Stop reading reviews before they give away all of the amazing pearls and priceless nuggets of this movie. Make it your experience. Just go see it! There is nothing more I can say otherwise I'll have to type something like *** SPOILER ALERT *** The villains, the heroes, the Enterprise ALL took a pounding ... and so will your heart. GO ! Have a good time.

I have to admit though. These new characters have grown onto me. The movie kept me on my edge of my seat at times and other times I felt bored. Overall I say GO! Definitely a good story and some awesome scenes.

Fast-paced with a lot of action but it manages to do this without sacrificing character interaction. It's a very character- driven film, dealing with relationships and sense of self. It feels more intimate and has a pleasing amount of depth as the moral and ethical dilemmas in which the characters find themselves parallel the present day but not in a heavy-handed way. You can relate to these people and the decisions they are faced with. Much better film than the 2009 movie, which I loved, and possibly my favorite out of all 12 Star Trek films. The cast was excellent with notable and impressive performances by Simon Pegg, Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Weller, and Chris Pine, in particular. Also Bruce Greenwood was fantastic. The homage in the third act is perhaps a little heavy- handed but it comes across much better after the second viewing. Best format is IMAX 3D.

We loved it! The references to the original series were a lot of fun. The human feelings of the people were enjoyable. It wasn't just all space fighting. We felt the 3-D was effective in this movie.
