Now this is a movie, a movie to see on IMAX, a movie to see in 3D, a movie for Trek fans and non Trek fans toy enjoy. Did not see the previous one, doesn't really matter. It stands on its own, has multiple plot threads, love store, camaraderie, action.
This is a do not miss movie, hope the next one does not take 3 more years!

wear some sort of noise reducing apparatus! The IMAX/3D version we saw was almost painfully loud. Also, do not sit too close or you will be turning your head left and right on a regular basis!
Out side of that, the action was amazing and the story line was fairly consistent, although there were a few spots where you stop and wonder how this fits in with the original stories. There are a few surprises for those that are fans. Not to spoil the fun, but there is a cameo appearance of a Tribble and a fleeting mention of a Gorn. All in all, it was a truly entertaining movie.
Since there is some violence, you might want to leave the little kiddies home.

No spoilers here. EXCELLENT movie, VERY well-done. Script is a little thin, but let's face it, we all just want to be back on the Enterprise, and even a less-than-perfect story will do.
The sets, special effects, CGI are among the best you have EVER seen, making the whole, mmmm, enterprise worth the ticket price ($20 for IMAX 3D, also well worth it, although the 3D really didn't add much.)
LOTS of homage paid to TOS and STTWOK.
GO, and go again. You know you want to.

I enjoyed it. good story, great special effects, everything was done well. Star Trek fans might not like it (just like the last one) because this updated version is not in line with the classic series. good movie non the less.

Best darn movie I've seen in a looong time, it was just spectacular - the cast, the story line, the special effects, etc. etc. Definitely a MUST SEE for all, Treky or not!
