I know it's sci-fi fantasy but how come when the artificial gravity fails the crew starts falling as the ship is plummeting toward earth? And damn Kirk had a looooong time to fix the energy system.

Somehow I like these Star Trek characters even more than (most of) the originals.
Movie is an action-fest and of course the effects are awesome.
Very fast 2 hours. Worth seeing if you like Star Trek at all.

After the great reboot of Star Trek, this sequel raises the stakes even higher. Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan is phenomenal as well as rest of the returning cast. The movie was exciting and faced paced at all times. However some things in the story were kind of ridiculous and feels poorly written at time. Overall the movie was very enjoyable and the action and visual effects were definitely on par.

Star Trek Into Darkness, the second film in JJ Abrams' reboot of the franchise, continues the action & excitement generated by the first installment in 2009. The entire cast returns and builds on the chemistry established in the first film. Pine & Quinto are great as Kirk & Spock, Zoe Soldana kicks butt as Uhura and Simon Pegg & Karl Urban once again shine as Scotty and Dr McCoy. But the addition of Benedict Cumberpatch as... John Harrison is a huge upgrade as the film's main villain over Eric Bana's rather forgettable Nero in the first film. Cumberpatch dominates the screen in every scene he's in. Pine, Quinto, Urban, et al are all fine actors, but Cumberpatch raises the bar at every opportunity. The special effects and action are top notch and the plot, although set in the 23rd century, echoes events in our current times. If you're a Trek fan, you probably don't need any encouragement to go see this movie, but even if you're not, it's worth checking out.

My husband is the real Star Trek fan he really enjoyed it said it was the best one yet. I enjoyed the movie itself but I could have just opt to see in without the 3D. I don't think there was enough of the 3D worth the movie price. Other than that I did enjoy it.
