Big bore from start to finish. Like watching someone play a video game with bland characters, little plot and lots of shoot-'em-up and running. I mean people are supposedly running for their lives and carrying on normal conversation! Almost got up and left but husband was enjoying himself. I love Star Trek and Star Wars but this one is a dud.

I don't know if IMAX is worth it...but 3D didn't dissappoint! J.J. did a great job as well as the cast...my only semi gripe would be the cameo (unecessary) of a certain vulcan (again).

Let me begin by saying I have watched all of the Star Trek movies (old and new) so I had high expectations for this one. There were some issues with storyline and some of the plot made no sense, but overall, I would recommend this movie to most people. I like the actors, I liked the special effects, and I enjoyed the idea of the movie immensely. I'd give it a solid 3 out of 4 stars.

In keeping with the theme if the last movie, this incorporated characters and themes from the original timeline and presents a new twist on everything. It's original and unpredictable. Can't wait for the next one.

The revelation of the true identity of the villain was great! loved the reversal from 'Wrath of Khan' with Kirk being the one who takes the radiation, and Spock on the outside of the glass. It is sooo eerie to see be able to see this cast 'aging' into the original cast-marvelous actors pre-creating the franchise. Only thing that could have been better-if Ricardo Montalban were alive to see this incarnation of Khan. Loved how they even squeezed a Tribble in! Oh, and all you fellow Dr. Who fans-did you catch the connection?
