The movie was truly awesome and funny at the same time. You had references to all the original movies and then some through out the whole movie. It's an amazing adventure to watch and a must watch to any sci-fi fan.

We were disgusted...this was a poor rehash of "The Wrath of Khan" with lots of explosions and stuff flying at the audience - gotta use the 3-D effects....the story got lost, and while the Kirk and Spock characters are just great, I have to say the rest of the cast is ...uh....overdone, overwrought, overacted...just not good. J.J. Abrams, that's enough retooling...let's have an original story next time!

Sorry Wrath of Khan

May be the best offering of the franchise. While only time will tell whether Into Darkness will eclispse Wrath of Khan, it is the first challenge to WOK dominance. Chris Pine has firmly claimed the mantle of James T. Kirk. I would say, his Kirk may be more engaging that Shatner's. I only have two nitpicks which I will not post here to avoid spoilers and because the are pretty minor. Even after my second viewing I am suspend my disbelief. It was a great homage to WOK...and a worthy successor.

Into Darkness and Awesome!

JJ Abrams has done it again with another voyage of the Starship Enterprise and another deft touch with his alternate timeline scenario. However some things have not changed and one of those is the villain. You've either seen it. Talked to someone who has or looked it up on IMDB and wondered why they called him one thing in the trailers and interviews but he's listed on their credits as Khan. It's true. All the stuff Montalban couldn't do in Space Seed and STWOK is made up for as Cumberbatch uses a mixture of brains and brawn to blaze through every scene like a souped up photon torpedo. I did think Chekov was wronged in the movie with screen time but everyone else does pretty well. This puts Kirk on the path to learning what a Starship Captain needs to know that so far he's been able to bluff his way through and write off to pure luck. His luck just ran out here and the one to take it away from him is Cumberbatch. Go see this now.

I have heard so many great things about the Star Trek series, but I did not imagine I would be completely in awe of and entertained by it. Truly a great addition to the scifi series. Great plot, dialogue, graphics, and surprises. I look forward to what is to come in the next few movies. The casting was also well done. :). A movie for everyone, maybe not so much for kids.
