Loved the movie!!! If you love Star Trek, you will LOVE it too! Even my husband was glad he saw it, and he isn't a big Trek fan.

Star Trek Into Darkness: A battle between good values and bad values

The Creator's prime directive is life. The Creator sets the way of life and the way of death before us and asks us to choose life. "Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death." (Jer 21:8 NKJ) Kirk is tested at Starfleet and on a primitive planet and both times chooses life over the dead traditions of men. Kirk respects the human rights of his neighbor equal to his own divinely endowed rights. Kirk has rightly chosen life. Khan believes his rights are superior to his neighbors and this gives him the right to force them to conform or to kill them. Khan, like evil Cain, chooses the way of death. Star Trek Into Darkness is a great adventure and moral play.

Fantastic use of 3D. Great character lines and nods to original series. From the audience reactions around me, Star Trek Into Darkness fully engaged both the older generation who watched in the 60's as well as the action junkies of today. I look forward to seeing it again.

Star Trek 2: The Wrath Of You-Know-Who!

The action is abundant, characters get to develop and the humorous dynamics between them really start to click here. Cool to see Peter "RoboCop" Weller on board as an admiral. The main villain is well-played by Benedict Cumberbatch, and all spoilers aside, you know who that character is by now. I liked this movie a lot, probably a bit more than JJ Abrams' first Trek, although I was a little irked by the blatant rip-offs from the 80's Trek 2 (dialogue, a climactic scene involving heroic sacrifice, and one really hilarious "Shatnerism" that I thought would work as a joke, but never imagined would actually happen in this film!) But hey, these new Treks are tons of fun and I dare say better than the last few Next Generation features. Looking forward to those new Abrams-helmed Star Wars movies. Geek it up!
